🚨 NEW: Labour is lifting 100,000 children out of poverty by expanding access to free school meals. Alongside free breakfast clubs, cheaper uniform costs and government-funded childcare, Labour is putting money in parents’ pockets and giving children the best start in life.

Today, the Labour government announces the first 750 schools that will become the first to offer a new free breakfast club. Northumberland Labour are pleased that 14 primary schools in Northumberland will benefit from this initial rollout.

I know how important buses are to people in the North East, so great news 🚌! We’re stepping in to stop £3 bus fares being introduced in the region until at least Dec 25. From 1st Jan a single will be capped at £2.50 with many fares costing less than this and £1 for under 22s 🚍
