Taiwan, whose electrical grid relies on LNG for 40% of power generation, has an LNG emergency stockpile that will last around 11 days. Taiwan may be forced to ration power or reduce electricity to its industrial sector, per POLITICO

The reported 14-point peace plan offered by the US to Iran, simplified: - All sanctions on Iran lifted - Iran gives up its nuclear weapons program, gets assistance building a civil nuclear program - Iran stops funding proxies - Hormuz remains open - Missiles discussed later

@getsharkproof @HamEggsnSam Aside from some salt domes, it’s not like the raw materials for plastics can be stored in large quantities. And why should they? The raw materials flow as gases continuously into the plants that turn them into plastics. Of course price increases if feed price increases.

Sharkproof | Outsmart the system.Build real wealth
A price jump like this isn’t about plastic. It’s about how concentrated the upstream supply chain is. When a handful of petrochemical giants control the feedstock, the resin, and the contracts, a ‘price update’ becomes a transfer of cost straight through the system. Polyethylene is tied to oil, gas, and cracker capacity and when production tightens or margins shrink, the increase gets pushed downstream instantly. Packaging companies can’t absorb it, manufacturers can’t negotiate it, and consumers can’t avoid it. This is what happens when the market structure gives one side pricing power and the other side no alternatives. The shock doesn’t get managed. it gets passed along. And by the time the consumer sees the higher price on the shelf, the negotiation happened months earlier in a boardroom.

@914Ann If you choose to misconstrue and get performatively mad at this you go right on ahead. Everybody else has. Keep pretending this isn’t all in response to a two-year reservist who got disability from anxiety while he went to college.

Take a job they say .... But don't take the benefits of the job they say.... This makes no sense. Every other job in the world would expect the employees to take every single benefit available to them. I mean someone may not want or need their medical benefits but nobody would consider them immoral for taking it.
NPC@NPC5285

@thestinkeye @LawStud0842619 @CalebJHull You’re playing legalistic games. What’s legal and what is moral or understood to be appropriate support from the public are VERY different things. And you’re advocating for all of that nonsense. Your attitude jeopardizes public support for real disability.

I injured myself while in the AF. Was doing a job on an F16 and due to faulty equipment, fell over the side, onto the sill of the cockpit while holding up a 220 lb ejection seat. I had to get a sacroiliac fusion at 25. After a year and a half of failed physical therapy and being undeployable, they finally put me up for medical dishcarge. During ny evaluation, they did the standard range of motion tests. When attempting to bend over, I stopped because it hurt. The Dr asks if that was as far as I could go, to which I replied "I can probably go further but it will hurt". He asks me to show him, I did and that was that. I was discharged at 20% disability, even though I was now permamnetly disabled. The process is incredibly simple and vacuous, it rewards those that will lie and punishes those that are honest. I've since had 2 more spinal surgeries and shoulder surgey before I've even turned 40. I have hearing loss, herniated discs (cervical and lumbar) and arthiritis. Point is, the system is broken and needs attention.
Erich Hartmann@erichhartmann

Military Disability fraud is rampant, but for some reason is ignored, allowed… and even encouraged. This kind of obvious cheating ruins the system for those who actually need it: heroes who served our country honorably and were injured in the process.

@NPC5285 @thestinkeye @LawStud0842619 @CalebJHull So, you think a vet can walk in and say his back hurts, and he just gets a check? no one else should have to be subjected to this level of stoopit You should be forced to stay at home and shop by phone, and no internet. That level of stoopit is a national security concern.

I see we are still on the veteran benefits nonsense. All I will say is y'all acting as if it can't be questioned is sus and only makes people question it harder. Being a "veteran" isn't a "can't be questioned" shield. Is it bigger than the immigrant daycare fraud bs? No Does it exist? Yes Is it a pressing matter now? Not really Are y'all just butt hurt because Caleb Hammers show makes vets feel like defensive fagós? Yes Stop taking it up the ass and move on. Don't want to mute all of you because y'all can't take the dildo of criticism atm

You don’t know shit about being in the military for 20+ years and what ailments follow you for the rest of your life. 100% doesn’t mean people are maimed and immobilized. Don’t bring up “civilians have tougher jobs that cause lifetime effects as well”. Yes but they can quit any time they want. Military members are charged with doing what their country asks of them.

@WomanDefiner lol you’re about go get a whole lot of undignified, angry responses from vets who totally aren’t doing this. No way. Don’t you have other things to work on? Why don’t you support the vets?

There is an odd number of vets defending blatant fraud in the VA and that makes me think they also are committing blatant fraud. Why would you want people taking money that could go to people who need it even more?

@massaBeard @thestinkeye @LawStud0842619 @CalebJHull You know people can like, have opinions right? You’re getting your panties in a twist over a random with an NPC PFP saying it’s bad grifters are grifting. You know I don’t actually control the federal budget, right?

It’s not a straw man. You’re literally arguing for it to be made harder for vets and their families to qualify for benefits, in the interest of rooting out exceedingly rare fraud. To have the benefits they receive subject to suspicion because of a problem that exists entirely in your own mind. So sorry facing the reality of what you’re arguing for is so hard for you. I provided actual data, where’s yours? You seem to be arguing that because it happens anywhere, it’s worth investing huge sums of money in putting all benefits under the microscope. And again, you’re so worried about this problem, what have you done to address it? Bitched at vets on Twitter? Hey, someone somewhere is writing a bad check at a Walmart right now! We better make it a national emergency, no amount of expense is too much to stop this outrageous fraud! It’s definitely on par with actual national emergencies!

@ssnbattlechop @NPC5285 @RSFitz @thestinkeye @CalebJHull this is the crux of the argument. people call taking full advantage of the law fraud, when it isn't, but it's not really "disability" in the commonly understood sense of the word, either. would the american public support it if they fully understood the system? maybe, maybe not.

@RSFitz @thestinkeye @LawStud0842619 @CalebJHull Please stop with the emotional sob stories. Nobody, and I mean nobody with a brain, is trying to take away benefits from kids whose parents were killed. You’re just setting up and knocking down straw men.
