Here is the smarter way to manage risk on a $50K prop firm account:
The 3-Phase System:
Phase 1 — Attack mode
Start with $800 risk per trade.
Keep risking $800 as long as you are winning.
Best case — you pass the challenge in 4 trades:
Trade 1: +$800 ✅
Trade 2: +$800 ✅
Trade 3: +$800 ✅
Trade 4: +$600 ✅
Challenge passed. Account funded.
Phase 2 — Protection mode
The moment you hit ONE stop loss, cut risk
immediately to $400-$450.
Not after two losses.
Not "just this one more trade."
Immediately.
Example:
Trade 1: +$800 ✅
Trade 2: -$800 ❌
→ Drop to $400 risk NOW.
→ Trade at $400 until you recover the full $800 loss.
→ Once recovered — go back to $800.
Phase 3 — Reset and repeat
Loss recovered.
Back to $800.
Same cycle. Every time.
