Reform UK says it would prioritise opening migrant detention centres in areas that vote for the Green Party. (via BBC) They also added that they will not put these centres in areas where a Reform UK MP is elected.

@Matt_TS @dank_ackroyd @networkrail @BTP does this advert follow policy? Surely the public have a right to visit a station and look at trains or any public area in it? Not just trainspotters, anyone. Suspicious behaviour should not include ‘hanging around’?
English

@skinoverbone I dont benefit from any of these so I 100% be voting for Reform
English

I wonder if Reform UK sought the express permission of parents, to use images of their children online?
As a parent of a school age kid, I have to sign all sorts to give consent for this type of situation.
This is a genuine safeguarding issue.

@ChimeWhistle Its just the usual entilted northerners that think they can sit where they like and dismiss the reservations.

Paedophile David Johnson, 35, was caught watching child abuse videos on a train from Stafford to London, with an indecent image set as his phone wallpaper.
A horrified passenger spotted him and alerted British Transport Police. He was arrested at Euston station.
Johnson had nearly 200 indecent images, including 105 Category A (the most serious). He also pleaded guilty to attempting sexual communication with a child and arranging/facilitating a child sex offence.
Jailed for two years and three months at Inner London Crown Court, plus a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the sex offenders register for a decade.
Just two years is a joke...
Sickening. Caught red-handed.

@NotFarLeftAtAll So many nasty pricks in the comments. Maybe the grandparents were about to leave anyway.

Back in 2013, @Ed_Miliband proposed an energy price cap.
David Cameron called it “Marxist.”
Today it kicks in, cutting £117 a year from bills, perfect timing given the conflict in Iran.
Turns out someone was right all along.
Cheers, Ed. ⚡

@SteelCityDog_ Thats what Travel Insurance is for. I fully support this change
English

Can't wait for this decision to be reversed because too many people have been burned by such an absolutely atrocious change. Because what defines "exceptional circumstances"?

Rail ticket fraud. At last, a gaping loophole in the system will close, from Wednesday 1 April. Currently unscrupulous passengers buy an Anytime or Off-peak ticket, make the journey, and if the ticket isn't clipped or scanned they claim a refund, less £5. independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

@Nachomunchy They held an LNER train heading to Leeds at Doncaster for passengers from a service out of St Pancras…
English

Spare a thought for those Leeds fans who opted to get the train back from Palace… we’re not home yet! Currently in Sheffield awaiting a very slow onward train to complete the trip. Thanks to the combined efforts of @networkrail @EastMidRailway and @CrossCountryUK for the chaos😵💫
English

@pacer142 @SimonCalder You dont need to necessary have a ticket in order to reserve a seat and train companies do still sell tickets during disruption. The only people who are moaning about this change are the fraudsters themselves.
English

@SimonCalder And before you say "don't buy until you're sure", the problem with that is (a) you might want to reserve a seat, and (b) if there's disruption the railway will just wash its hands of you and refuse to sell a ticket.
This needs bad publicity, not good. Please help the pax.
