It was the Conservatives who enshrined the Net Zero by 2050 in law. No other country was stupid enough. It is welcome that the Tories have realised it is madness for a major economy to pursue rapid decarbonisation when our competitors still use fossil fuels.

It is a difficult thing to say your party has got it wrong. We all care about the environment but making our people poor while the world watches is making us a warning not an example. Kudos to @TufnellHenry for his bravery today.

Oxfordshire County Council is coining it with congestion charge penalty fares..especially in the city centre, where visitors won't be familiar with the scheme. This is what congestion charge signage looks like on the approach to the Hythe Bridge Street cash cow. Sorry, filter.

@wideawake_media You’re probably right, but the credibility of an ‘average’ tree in the Amazon is on a par with the ‘average’ temperature of the earth! 🙄

A new study shows that the average size of trees in the Amazon has been growing by 3.2% each decade, a phenomenon directly linked to rising CO₂ levels. "CO₂ isn't killing the forest—it's feeding it." "The planet overall is greener. More CO₂, more growth, more life." Credit: @Electroversenet

@JohnSlinger I think sorting this out would help a little more. Even if you just removed the tax for paying a tax with VAT levied on ‘duty’.

Following an international literature review @activetraveleng are unable to find real evidence that cycle tracks reduce casualties. They are able to say they will give you a false sense of security & increase the perception of safety, and most injuries occur at intersections.

The demolition @SSE⁩’s Ferrybridge coal power plant today was a symbolic moment for me It demonstrates that change is possible But to limit global temperature rises and keep 1.5C within reach, the whole world needs to plan to consign coal power to history #COP26

This will go down in history as one of the worst acts of self harm - blowing up power stations. Since then global coal consumption has risen. Nobody is following this energy masochism leadership.

𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗼 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗲 Electric car mandates are bleeding UK manufacturers dry—£170 million in fines and allowances already paid, with a potential billion-pound hit next year as EV sales stall at just 22%.
