Discussions focused on U.S. support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, regional stability, and strengthening bilateral cooperation.

On his first official visit to Washington, the Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Rodolph Haykal, held high-level meetings with U.S. administration officials and members of Congress, alongside H.E. Ambassador Nada Hamadeh Moawad.

H.E.s Hamadeh and Rasamny held meetings at the White House, Treasury, State, DFC, and World Bank focused on airports and ports modernization and strengthening U.S.–Lebanon cooperation. A fireside chat at the MEI addressed infrastructure reform and Lebanon’s path forward.

The imposition of visas on Iranian visitors is a Lebanese sovereign decision par excellence. It was adopted by the Council of Ministers, and we are proceeding with its implementation. There will be no leniency in controlling the borders and protecting national security. 🇱🇧

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants strongly condemns the Iranian attacks against the sovereignty and security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Lebanon affirms its full solidarity with these fellow Arab States and firmly rejects any violation of their sovereignty, any threat to their security, or any action undermining their stability.

Disarming Iranian proxy terror groups and cultivating peace in the Middle East are essential parts of @POTUS's agenda. Today SBO Palladino met with Lebanese Chief of Defense General Haykal to continue discussions regarding the United States’ support of Lebanon’s effort to dismantle all non-state actors.

I was glad to have the opportunity to meet with the Lebanese Chief of Defense General Haykal yesterday. Michigan is home to the largest Lebanese-American community in the country, with so many who have deep ties and family trying to make it in this dynamic country. So many care deeply about Lebanon's future. I'm ready to work with Lebanese and U.S. officials to help support a safe, secure and successful future.

Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks held a productive meeting with @LebArmyOfficial Gen. Rodolphe Haykal to discuss progress disarming Hezbollah and other non-state militias as well as improving control over Lebanon’s borders. The LAF remains a critical security partner of @CENTCOM and its operations must continue unfettered in pursuit of full completion of the five-phase plan.
