The biggest difference I didn’t expect about being a VC vs founder was the mindset shift from being skeptical to being almost delusionally optimistic. In VC, your job is to say no 98% of the time. As a founder, your job is to sustain belief while being rejected 98% of the time.

Does the investor invest in your space and sector? If a founder finds my email and has researched me - knows that I only invest in US based positively impact cos - then I always take the time to reply. But 9/10 they aren’t in my geo or sector

@KypRowe Probably don’t know much about this one, but I would assume some doing well out of the gate are picks and shovels servicing moonshots & general industry (drug discovery): CRO’s, Clinical Trials, Retreats (some well in profit), VR, data/tech, critical service providers, media etc
