@Bezner My husband attended a men’s retreat. He decided to leave and he was asked why. His response, you’re teaching how to be Esau not Jacob trusting God. My hubby is not a manly man full of his ego but he is a prayer warrior, strong in the Lord. A student of the Word. Love him!

We cannot shoehorn “acting tough” and “Christlikeness” into the same mold. We must choose. The way forward is to teach The Way. Not braggadocio. Not machismo. The Way of Jesus. That’s where men will find True Masculinity. Grace and peace.

@BethMooreLPM Keeper of the House by Shirley Ann Grau. Won the Pulitzer Prize back in the day. The ending so surprising and the twists and turns it takes you on. When I read the ending about 2:00 am I woke up Roy to tell him about the ending I didn’t see coming.

I need a satisfying ending to a novel. It doesn’t have to be a happy ending! It’s just that, after I’ve put in hours reading & you’ve drawn me in, dad gummit, give me a nod-my-head ending!! I don’t mind being shocked. The end of where the crawdads sing? Flabbergasting. But I couldn’t say it wasn’t good. Anyway, I’m annoyed and no I’m not telling what book I just read because I don’t like to throw shade on other authors.

Got engaged to the man exceeding my wildest dreams this weekend. I never thought I’d get remarried, much less be engaged (figured if I got remarried I'd be sprinting to the courthouse as fast as I could before I came to my senses). Life is full of surprises, some astounding.

@TheEricBland Had bilateral knee replacements in 2016. Surgical pain subsides, you’ll be good. Find a massage therapist who does lymphatic massage. Helps a lot. Like everyone else says do your PT. Happy recovery! You’ll be so glad you did this…in a week or so.

I just dont think anyone can be prepared for the amount of pain that one experiences after knee replacement surgery. I have had two of the worst days of my life in pain since the surgery. Thank goodness for my soulmate Renee who has been an amazing nurse. I have been short tempered from the pain but she keeps me focused on the medication and PT. So much respect for the folks who have done this surgery. My PT guy is great but he said this unbearable pain could last another 3-4 days. Thanks so much to all of you who have sent your well wishes. People are so nice. EB

If the fragrance of the Lord is like honeysuckle, it is this time of year I smell him most.

@esaumccaulley Mom would put several opened cans in a pan with water and heat them up. Then we could use the warm grease on the saltines with the sausages to flavor them up. We had potted meat and deviled ham as well. Oh and SPAM.

@JennyDawnTX I was interviewed by KPRC Houston as I came out of a tennis tourney after watching Chris Everett win. Asked who I thought would win the George Foreman fight that night. Made the TV cut. Also as Mildred and Gertrude when Pageant was on TV.

@JennyDawnTX Working w/Jason at HFBC, I’d call Roy @lunch and ask him to make a spreadsheet for me. Jason knew I didn’t do it cause it included analysis of the numbers. He didn’t want that. Roy said than this doesn’t tell him anything. Yep I think that was the goal something 2say nothing

Emerging from sabbatical to tell you to read this book. I devoured it in massive gulps, dog-earing every page in sight. @BethMooreLPM has written a masterclass on spiritual growth. I’ll be using this in sermons for years to come. Properly attributed, of course.
