Godot Engine's greatest L was removing the Tween node. It's been 3 years and I still can't wrap my head around something that isn't a node, but behaves like a node and requires everything a nodes does...just to make up for the fact they removed the Tween node. It's insane.

Friday question: What issue with Visual Studio 2026 did you run into this week, that would make you happy to see fixed?

@notcinyy I would say your review is more creatively devoid than the game itself and reads like 'grumpy old man' angry roguelike doesn't mean the berlin interpretation

i did end up writing about it. i despise megabonk. its the most creatively bankrupt game to come out of the indie sector and its completely undeserving of the adoration it has received backloggd.com/u/cinyy/review…
stelle@notcinyy

ive been playing it a bit more as of late and im really fighting the itch to write something about it, its definitely fun but only because its an amalgamation of mechanics and ideas pilfered from other roguelikes it might seriously be the most creatively bankrupt product ever

Now I understand why roughly 80% of developers who launch a game on Steam never release another game on Steam.

@wildcraft_games Yeah the pixelation effect was way too much, this looks much nicer.

Been trying out a new approach to the art style of A Short Quest. Would love to get some feedback on this, What do you think? Here's a bit more of a deep dive below: Up until now we've only used a 'pixel post process'. Which essentially forces the game to render at a lower resolution. But this leads to feedback that the game feels blurry. I want to achieve that nostalgic vibe, without it messing with our existing workflows and without giving 50% of players a headache, so here's my solution: 1. The pixelation is now way less prominent, there's way more pixels on screen, and it's more there to add texture and grittyness than to 'de-res'. 2. Added a dither texture to all shadows (look at the dark corners of the video and you'll really notice it), this adds some great texture and gives me nostalgic vibes. 3. Added color banding, again just gives it a nice dark low-fi vibe. 4. Vertex snapping - this is a classic PS1 constraint, trying it out here to see if it again adds some subliminal old school RPG vibes. Let me know what you think of the video, any recommendations I'd love to hear!

@michaelbushe @MMatt14 "Made this FDA compliant full stack app in a few months with Claude. Would have been faster if I worked alone, haha." The readme disagrees with you.

@zagreus92 @AyeDereKells @BurnerDontask @AintyouKiersten I am talking about property disputes in your ideal society without taxes - two sets of people want to use an area for opposing reasons. Let’s say one wants to use it as farming and another wants to use it as housing.
