A wonderful audience last night in Växsö which I have learned to pronounce! Thank you for all the fun in that lovely place - particularly the Irish bar. Thanks for the craic and the music. Heading for Malmo for the show tomorrow.

@mikjcal Yes, here in the UK Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays too, so we have a four day weekend.

I’m actually really surprised to learn that for the United States that bangs on so much about Christianity that Good Friday and Easter Monday are not federally mandated public holidays for the whole country 🤔 Here in Australia the whole country gets a 4 day long weekend, and those who have to work get paid penalty rates for it.

At home, there was a female puppy that my mother had adopted. She found it while it was eating discarded food at a local shop and drinking from a drain. My mother felt very sorry for it. She got out of the car to buy food for it and gently helped that little puppy, which was cute and friendly. My mother picked it up, even though it was dirty with muck from the drain, and still placed it on the seat of the car. I said, “Mom, it’s so dirty!” But she replied, “What happened? It can be cleaned, and it can be safe. This life is very important.” Mom took care of it and made it comfortable. Three months later, due to a car accident, my mother passed away. That time was very tough for me, and I fell into a depression remembering my mother. During that time, this little female soul stayed with me and slowly began to help me improve. There was no one else at home; it would listen to me share my thoughts and see my anger, yet it never said anything. For me, it would sit in one place for hours. Losing her made me feel lost. My heart broke. I have my mother’s beloved memory with me.

BREAKING: Gavin Newsom’s wife publicly shames Donald Trump for his appalling comments about people with disabilities and insulting her husband for having dyslexia! Last night, the president once again mocked California Governor Gavin Newsom for admitting he struggles with a learning disability, as so many millions of Americans do. It was a cruel and enormously petty show of ableist bigotry unbecoming of a president and a human. Jennifer Siebel Newsom filmed a video response to Trump taking him to task for his hateful words, and it’s a must-see. “I just witnessed Donald Trump's comments about learning disabilities and my husband, Gavin Newsom, and I honestly had to take a beat. Suggesting that someone with dyslexia or any learning difference for that matter is somehow less capable of leading or achieving is extremely ignorant and offensive. Dyslexia is not a measure of intelligence. In fact, quite the contrary. And learning differences do not determine someone's potential. On the contrary, some of the most successful leaders in business and the world have dyslexia.” “Day in and day out, Trump says things that make him unfit for office. He degrades our vulnerable communities, our institutions, even the constitution itself. And somehow we're told to ignore it, turn a blind eye, pretend everything is normal. Guess what? It's not. And we're fed up. As someone who grew up in a Republican household, shame on the Republican Party for normalizing this vile specimen of a human being stationed at the top of their party.” “There are millions of kids in this country with learning differences who are already working twice as hard to keep up. Kids are trying to believe in themselves. I know this personally, a few of my children learn differently. I see the emotions, the toll, the coping mechanisms, the extra hours, the grit, takes them every single day. And I know they're going to be fabulous. Learning differences don't make you less intelligent. They don't make you less capable. And they certainly don't make you less worthy of leadership. They make you special.” And honestly, if we're going to talk about what's disqualifying in a leader, let's talk about that. A convicted felon, a man found liable for sexual abuse, a man notorious for degrading female journalists, a man with a track record for bankrupting businesses, a man whose name has shown up thousands of times in the Epstein files, a man who sends masked extremists to terrorist black and brown communities and rip kids away from their families.” “The most corrupt president in our nation's history. Everything that Donald Trump represents is frankly beyond disqualifying.” MIC DROP. Thank you for taking a stand for America’s kids and all those who struggle with learning disabilities, Jennifer. Trump’s personal war of words against Gavin Newsom is just another example of how literally everything he says and does is repulsive, demeaning, and dehumanizing in the worst possible way. Truly there is no bottom to the depths of his depravity.

This house cat had been beaten so brutally that it was left with 11 broken bones. It shook nonstop from the pain and couldn’t even rest. When I rushed the cat to the emergency animal hospital, some people actually scoffed, saying a “regular” cat like this wasn’t worth the effort. Seeing it curled up in the corner, trembling, shattered me. The veterinarian let out a heavy sigh and explained the injuries were extreme, and the surgery would be expensive. Others told me that with that kind of money, I could just buy a purebred cat instead. I ignored them all. The little cat was in so much pain it couldn’t eat, yet it still gently pressed its head into my hand. Every evening after work, I went straight to the hospital just to sit nearby and talk softly for a few minutes. Even the nurses noticed how strong its will to survive was. The surgery was a success, and it pushed through the most critical days. Slowly, it began sipping goat’s milk, resting a tiny paw on my hand, its eyes seeming to say thank you. Three months later, it was running again. One leg still has a limp, but the way it races after patches of sunlight is breathtaking. Now it follows me everywhere, my little shadow, never letting me out of sight.

Seeing Infantino at a ‘Board of Peace’ in a red USA hat is a total affront to football fans. 1/3 of the participating countries are facing US visa bans, yet he’s clowning around amidst the desiccation of Gaza. The World Cup is totally compromised.
