It’s really sad that PM Carney has to come out and reply to this fear mongering conservative bullshit. Parliament must pass a bill that requires every MP to have top secret security clearance. Half of Pierre’s caucus wouldn’t be able to pass it. Including Pierre.
Pierre Poilievre@PierrePoilievre

How does an IRGC regime official get through any Canadian security checks? Did the Carney Liberals grant a temporary residency permit and override Canadian immigration officials? Not a single IRGC regime official should be allowed on Canadian soil. Canadians deserve answers now.

@Patrick52219722 @dave1oakns @CanadianCoffey Wait your logic here that all MPs hold security clearance is that political parties do basic vetting on their candidates? Really thats your logic? Thats not remotely the same thing. I dont believe mps need or should need clesrnace to take their seats. But your point is a LIE

Jonathan Wilkinson asked voters for another mandate just a year ago—turns out it was more of a short-term contract with a European exit clause. Off to Brussels on the public dime, while constituents get a by-election. And we wonder why cynicism about politics keeps growing. Meanwhile, I’m still here—ready to compete for the honour of serving this community, and actually see the job through. No exit clause. No backup posting. Just a commitment to stay and serve.

Did you get a bill in the mail? I have never gotten a bill in the mail. If anything the Liberals in ten years has lowered taxes in many areas. What idiot would believe what Pierre Poilievre says?

2011: Harper: 5,832,401 votes 2015: Harper: 5,613,614 votes 2019: Scheer: 6,239,227 votes 2021: O’Toole: 5,747,410 votes 2025: Poilievre: 8,113,484 votes The most votes in Conservative Party history. More than the majority Harper won. And they want him to moderate? We are not the Moderate Party of Canada. We’re Conservatives. Unlike the Liberals, we don’t bend on values. Nor do we steal ideas. We create them. We don’t need Liberals, pundits nor media giving us advice on “how to win” by firing our leader. Pierre is our guy.

@JennsTinyTweet @AndrewLawton The standing orders aren't amended in usual circumstances. Clearly this is different as the government now has a majority rather than a minority government.

@JillSweden1 Ya that's how our system works. The opposition leader is supposed to act like a prosecutor who is prosecuting the government each and every day.

Poilievre grilled Prime Minister Carney like a criminal. PM Carney didn't have to jump in and become Prime Minister. He could retired and walked into the sunset. He chose to fight for Canada against Trump. Yet Poilievre treats so disrespectful. I am sick of Poilievre.

@TWilsonOttawa How does equating a 174/343 seat majority (50.7%) to a 7/12 committee member majority (58.3%) make any sense? It does when the objective is for the Liberals to avoid scrutiny and accountability.

Rather than remove Conservatives from committees, they’re just increasing the number of members on committees to give them majority control over every one. Of course that also comes with the extra cost to taxpayers as MP’s get extra for being on a committee 🇨🇦
Stuart Benson@LeftHandStu

Government House Leader MacKinnon has announced he will be introducing a motion to restructure committees to 12 members (up from 10), with 7 Liberal members, 4 Conservatives, and one member from the Bloc Quebecois. This would mean that on the majority of committees, the Liberals would have a one vote majority even without the Chair’s tie-breaking vote.

@ScorpioRising08 @PierrePoilievre Have you ever worked on Parliament Hill or know anything about Parlaiment Hill? It is not a predetermined list for Members answering questions. Secondly, even if it were if the PM stood up to answer a question no other members on the government benches would rise.

Do you understand why Pierre Poilievre repeatedly asked the Prime Minister to stand up during Question Period today?? It is strategy. @PierrePoilievre is so full of shit and he is too chicken shit to tell Canadians that only The Speaker of the House can enforce Standing Orders and Time Allocation during Question Period - not the Prime Minister. The Leader of the Opposition gets the first and privileged opening in Question Period and is routinely allowed multiple supplementaries so they can press the government; the Speaker and the House's standing orders set the timing, order and limits. Here are some links to prove the facts: Standing Orders of the House of Commons ourcommons.ca/procedure/stan… Our Procedure - Questions ourcommons.ca/procedure/our-… Annotated Standing Orders (Chapter V: Questions) ourcommons.ca/procedure/anno… House Journals / Hansard (Debates) publications.gc.ca/site/archivee-… Pass This On...
