@rohanpaul_ai Wafer scale compute targets one of #AI’s biggest bottlenecks: data movement between GPUs. If Cerebras proves this model at scale, training large models could look very different. #MachineLearning

Reuters: Cerebras is looking to raise as much as $3.5B through its U.S. IPO. It competes with Nvidia and AMD, which is also a backer. Cerebras builds wafer-scale AI chips, i.e. uses an almost entire silicon wafer as one huge processor instead of cutting the wafer into many smaller chips. Normal AI hardware spread work across many GPUs, so speed depends not only on raw compute but also on how fast data can move between chips, memory, and networking gear. Cerebras is betting that putting massive compute and memory on one piece of silicon can reduce that data movement problem and make training and inference faster for certain large AI workloads. The company wants to raise $3.5B at $115 to $125 per share, after a previous IPO attempt was withdrawn. --- reuters .com/business/ai-chipmaker-cerebras-targets-115-125-share-price-us-ipo-source-says-2026-05-04/

@rohanpaul_ai Text to Video race getting interesting. A startup hitting Top 6 next to Alibaba and ByteDance shows how open the #AI video stack still is. Curious how Bach 1.0 performs after broad release. #MachineLearning

A startup in the Top 6 on Artificial Analysis Text-to-Video Leaderboards Alongside Alibaba, ByteDance, and xAI. Video Rebirth came out of nowhere. The AI video leaderboard has been exclusively trillion-dollar companies. Today, a startup just broke in. Video Rebirth. Super realistic results. Their model BACH just hit Top 6 on @ArtificialAnlys.

Bach-1.0 Preview from Video Rebirth debuts at #6 on the Artificial Analysis Text to Video Leaderboard (No Audio)! Bach-1.0 Preview is the latest Text to Video model from @video_rebirth, with similar performance to Vidu Q3 Pro, Kling 3.0 Omni 1080p (Pro), and grok-imagine-video. Bach-1.0 Preview is intended for broad release later in May. See example generations from Bach-1.0 Preview in the Artificial Analysis Video Arena below 🧵

AI isn't just software. It's a five-layer cake: energy, chips, infrastructure, models, and applications. The countries and companies that build the full stack will define the next industrial era. Read more here: futurumgroup.com/research-repor…
The Futurum Group@TheFuturumGroup

AI investment is expanding beyond models and applications into the full stack that supports them. Energy capacity, semiconductor supply, compute infrastructure, and software layers are becoming more connected, influencing how and where AI can be built and deployed. In partnership with @nvidia, @TheFuturumGroup examines the Five Layers of the AI Cake framework as a way to understand the structure of the AI economy. The market brief outlines how value is distributed across the stack, where bottlenecks are forming, and what these dynamics mean for enterprise strategy, capital allocation, workforce planning, and global competitiveness. ⏯️ Explore the key findings, and use the link to download the full report: 👉 buff.ly/LTszJWc #AIInfrastructure #NVIDIA #Futurum

A six-person team won the "Learn Track" at the MIT Hard Mode 2026 hackathon by creating Human Operator, an AI system capable of temporarily controlling human hand and wrist movements. The system is an assembly of existing tech applied in a novel way. It uses a camera for visual input, Anthropic’s Claude API to process voice commands and calculate necessary motions, and an Arduino-based hardware stack that delivers electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to physically contract specific muscles in the user's arm. During demonstrations, it successfully guided users to wave, form an "OK" sign, and even play an unknown piano melody.

open weight models are having a moment @masondrxy is making deepagents cli a coding harness that works amazing with open weight models what is missing? what should he add? try it out!
Mason Daugherty@masondrxy

deepagents-cli is quietly becoming the best place to start coding with open weight models. we've been investing heavily in making it a harness that's truly model-agnostic, without compromising performance! different models perform best with different harnesses -- prompts, middleware, settings. our recent profiles API (below) lets you bundle all of that per model, so Kimi, Qwen, GLM, etc. can drive the agent loop just as well as the closed frontier. more info on profiles x.com/Vtrivedy10/sta… other recent wins worth highlighting: - /agents - swap agent profiles mid-session (coding agent/content writer/custom) - /model - fuzzy switcher w/ live status; OpenRouter, LiteLLM, Baseten, hosted Ollama all built-in - headless mode w/ --json + --max-turns for scripting - --acp to run as an ACP server - /skill:name skills - MCP w/ OAuth full docs and quickstart ⬇️

@ConorNeu 86% heart attack prediction from a blood test is huge for preventive medicine. The real challenge is scaling diagnostics into health systems. With the right AI infrastructure and healthtech ecosystems like the UAE, this could reach millions. #AI #HealthTech

I'm personally invested in a company that can tell you whether you will have a heart attack in the next 12 months. With 86% certainty. From a blood test. Unreal value. They are weak at scaling. Someone please buy this and take it to the masses.

The real bottleneck in AI is no longer intelligence. It’s compute. Rate limits on tools are early signals that chips, power and data centers are under pressure as demand explodes. The implication is strategic. Access to compute may decide who leads and who slows down. scientificamerican.com/article/what-i… @denibechard @sciam

@aidenybai If a researcher reports reproducible vulns and gets ignored, that’s a red flag. Responsible disclosure is part of the modern security stack, especially for apps handling social data. Fix the infra first. #Cybersecurity #AI

Gotta take a moment to glaze @NousResearch. OpenClaw kicked open the door and captured our imaginations. Unfortunately, it became more difficult to use with each update. @Teknium came through with Hermes, and its everything we wanted from OpenClaw, and more. Incredible tech.
Nous Research@NousResearch

Hermes Agent now has multi-agent via the Kanban, new in v0.12.0. Agents claim tasks from a board, work in parallel, and hand off when blocked. You watch progress and unblock from one easy view instead of juggling terminals. We asked it to plan and make this video about itself:

@ahall_research Good point. I think the binding layer will decide it: training data, guardrails, deployment rules. Regions building strong AI governance, like the UAE ecosystem, may shape how model values actually show up in practice. #AI #AIEthics

This seems right — it’s the combination of the stated values and how well the values bind the model But still not sure whether we will see durable differentiation of values or not
Justin Hudson@RISignal

@ahall_research AI constitutions won’t converge on the same values, they’ll compete on how coherently they hold under pressure, and the interaction will decide which one you actually experience.

AI won’t solve your problems for you, but it can change how you solve them. Learn from Carol Willing, #JupyterLab Core Developer, about how to use Jupyter and AI for real-world problem solving: • AI tools serve humans – not the other way around. You’re still responsible for decisions, quality, and outcomes. • Treat AI as a toolkit, not magic. Each tool has its own purpose, strengths, and limitations. • Use a simple loop to make progress. Hypothesis → experiment → evaluate → iterate. • Notebooks are thinking tools. Combine code, narrative, and data to explore and explain ideas. • Rely on the 3 pillars of modern problem solving: Conversation (AI), computation (Python), and community (people). • Stay active. Don’t just accept outputs – question them, test them, and improve them. The bottom line: Better tools don’t replace thinking – they amplify it. 👉 Watch the full talk: youtu.be/Wg99AGQcohY
