Due importanti incontri oggi presso la sede della delegazione italiana a Bruxelles a margine del Consiglio Europeo, sui temi della competitività e delle migrazioni. Questa mattina ho incontrato il Cancelliere tedesco Merz e il Primo Ministro belga De Wever per uno scambio di vedute in vista della discussione sulla competitività europea, nella quale ci siamo concentrati in particolare sulle conseguenze del conflitto in Medio Oriente sul mercato globale delle fonti energetiche e sulle possibili iniziative da adottare rapidamente per contenere la spinta dei prezzi dell’energia. Ho poi co-presieduto, insieme ai primi ministri danese, Mette Frederiksen, e olandese, Rob Jetten, una nuova riunione tra alcuni degli Stati membri più interessati al tema delle soluzioni innovative da applicare alla gestione del fenomeno migratorio e, in particolare, al rafforzamento del quadro legale in materia di rimpatri. Oltre a Italia, Danimarca, Paesi Bassi e Commissione Europea, hanno preso parte all’incontro anche Austria, Belgio, Bulgaria, Cipro, Germania, Grecia, Polonia, Lettonia, Malta, Slovacchia, Repubblica Ceca, Svezia e Ungheria.
