It wouldn’t magically turn into a superficial or fad-like behavior. It would remain a stable, persistent cognitive and emotional experience, the same way countless other brain-based phenomena do. So the whole “nurture vs biology” angle doesn’t actually affect the central point: the phenomenon exists, it’s observable, and it’s rooted in the brain because all persistent psychological experiences are. The mechanism behind it is open for research, but its reality isn’t. Which leaves us with a strange gap: either you’re using “nurture” in the scientific sense, in which case you aren’t contradicting anything I’ve said, or you’re using it in a loose, incorrect way.

No. What you're refering to are attempts to explain how the phenomenon arises, not whether it exists in the first place. We don't need to fully understand a phenomenon's origin to know that it's real. The existence of trans people and their consistent, deeply felt internal experiences is the phenomenon. It's been documented, studied, and observed over decades. This isn't a fleeting cultural trend - it's a well-documented aspect of human variation. That alone is proof of the phenomenon. "Phenomenon" here simply means something that we know exists because it's observable. Trans people exist. Their reported experiences are persistent, consistent, and meaningful. That makes it real. We also know these experiences come from the brain because all human behavior originates in the brain. There is no alternative. The fact that we haven't pinned down the precise neurological mechanism doesn't mean the phenomenon isn't brain-based. It just means neuroscience hasn't caught up to the complexity yet - which is true for most things in psychology. You are right that we dont know what causes it exactly, but that's not my claim. My claim is that the behavior exists as a real and geniune experience that people really have and aren't lying about. And this experience is an emergen part of a human brain like any other phenomenon of human behavior. This is true reguardless of what exactly happens in a brian to make it true. So yes, you're right that we don’t fully understand the underlying cause. But that's not required to validate the experience as genuine. The burden isn't on trans people to prove their existence with an MRI scan. They exist by observation. How they come to exist is secondary to that.

DeepSeek has had a private proxy to OpenAI atleast until 2024-08-10. The existence of this hints that they probably didn't pay the regular API pricing to OpenAI and used a fleet of bots to query chatGPT instead, during training
