

At the initiative of the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the Chairperson of the AU Panel of the Wise, H.E. Domitien Ndayizeye, arrived in Antananarivo on Friday, November 7, 2025, to lead the AU High-Level Delegation deployed in accordance with the decisions adopted by the AU Peace and Security Council (PSC) at its 1305th and 1306th meetings, held on October 13 and 15, 2025, respectively, to consider the situation in Madagascar. The Head of the AU Delegation was warmly welcomed at Ivato International Airport by H.E. Madam Christine Razanamahasoa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Madagascar. The two officials had a brief exchange marked by fraternity and candor. H.E. Ndayizeye, accompanied by Professor Babacar Kante, member of the Panel of Wise, and H.E.M. Mohamed Idriss Farah, AU Special Envoy for Madagascar, held two exchange meetings respectively with the group of African Ambassadors, and Ambassadors of other partner countries accredited to Antananarivo, focused on the ways and means to be deployed to support the Republic of #Madagascar in successfully completing its transition through a consensual and inclusive political process.
