While officiating the workshop, @LMupende from GGGI Rwanda, underlined: “This marks a crucial milestone where the validation of the innovative GESI Index and Simulation triggers an even more important next step, where we start to apply this to assessing and modeling the gender and social inclusion co-benefits of climate interventions.” She added that complementary to this the GESI project pipeline serves as a strategic framework for identifying and prioritizing gender-transformative and socially inclusive projects.

Strengthening Gender Equality & Social Inclusion in Rwanda’s Climate Action. Today, @GGGI_Rwanda, in partnership with @REMA_Rwanda, convened a Technical Validation Workshop for the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Index and Simulation Tool and the GESI Projects Pipeline. The validation workshop brings together national stakeholders representing the Government, development partners and civil society to validate innovative tools designed to enhance the integration and tracking of gender-responsive and socially inclusive actions in Rwanda’s updated Nationally Determined Contributions | NDC 3.0. This initiative is supported by the @ndcpartnership, with funding from the Government of Canada through @environmentca🇨🇦. It aims to strengthen Rwanda’s leadership in inclusive climate action through: ✅ Technical validation of the GESI Index structure, indicators, and scoring methodology. ✅ Review of the AI-driven GESI Simulation Tool to model gender and inclusion co-benefits. ✅ Refinement of the GESI Projects Pipeline to align with national priorities and NDC commitments. #GreenGrowth #GreenRwanda #ClimateAction #GenderEquality #SocialInclusion #NDCs #Sustainability #InclusiveDevelopment
