১৫ বছরের শাসন। অসংখ্য প্রতিশ্রুতি। অসংখ্য সভা, মিছিল, মাইক, স্লোগান। আর বাস্তবে এক অন্য ছবি। বলা হয়েছে— ডবল ডবল চাকরি হয়েছে। বেকারত্ব নাকি কমে গেছে। রাজ্যের অর্থনীতি নাকি মজবুত হয়েছে। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ নাকি দৌড়ে দৌড়ে এগিয়ে চলেছে। এই কথাগুলো বছরের পর বছর বলে এসেছেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং তাঁর দলের নেতারা। কিন্তু বাস্তবটা কী? একসময় বড় বড় মাইক টাঙিয়ে গর্ব করে বলা হতো— পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ১০০ দিনের কাজে পরপর পাঁচ বছর প্রথম। প্রশ্ন হলো— এটা গর্বের বিষয়, না লজ্জার? ১০০ দিনের কাজ মানে কী? মানে সেই রাজ্যে স্থায়ী কর্মসংস্থান যথেষ্ট নেই। মানে শিক্ষিত যুবক-যুবতীদেরও অস্থায়ী শ্রমভিত্তিক কাজের ওপর নির্ভর করতে হচ্ছে। মানে শিল্প নেই, দীর্ঘমেয়াদি চাকরি নেই, বেসরকারি বিনিয়োগের জোয়ার নেই। তার ওপর সেই প্রকল্পেও দুর্নীতির অভিযোগ উঠে এসেছে। দুর্নীতির কারণে ১০০ দিনের কাজ বন্ধ হওয়ার পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়েছে। যে প্রকল্প ছিল দরিদ্র মানুষের শেষ আশ্রয়, সেটাও কলঙ্কে ঢেকে গেল। এবার নতুন ঘোষণা— “যুবসাথী” নামে বেকার ভাতা। শোনা যাচ্ছে আবেদনকারীর সংখ্যা ৪৫ লক্ষ ছাড়িয়ে গেছে। প্রথম দিন থেকেই মুর্শিদাবাদ এগিয়ে। তারপর দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনা। তারপর উত্তর ২৪ পরগনা। এই সংখ্যা কি উন্নয়নের সনদ? না কি ভয়ঙ্কর এক বাস্তবতার ইঙ্গিত? ১৮ থেকে ৪০ বছর বয়সী ৪৫ লক্ষ বেকার ছেলে-মেয়ে— এরা কারা? এরা আমাদের রাজ্যের ভবিষ্যৎ। এরা কলেজ-বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়া প্রজন্ম। এরা স্বপ্ন নিয়ে বড় হওয়া তরুণ-তরুণী। এত বড় সংখ্যায় যদি যুব সমাজ বেকার ভাতার জন্য আবেদন করে, তাহলে কি বলা যায় বেকারত্ব কমেছে? তাহলে কি বলা যায় রাজ্য দৌড়ে এগোচ্ছে? ভাতা দেওয়াতে আপত্তি নেই। সরকার চাইলে সামাজিক সুরক্ষা দিতে পারে। কিন্তু প্রশ্ন হলো— চাকরি কোথায়? শিল্প কোথায়? সরকারি নিয়োগ স্বচ্ছভাবে কোথায়? ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্যের প্রসার কোথায়? গ্রুপ-C, গ্রুপ-D, শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্য— একের পর এক নিয়োগে দুর্নীতির অভিযোগ উঠেছে। যোগ্য প্রার্থীরা বছরের পর বছর আন্দোলন করছে। অযোগ্যরা টাকার জোরে চাকরি পেয়েছে— এমন অভিযোগে আদালত পর্যন্ত যেতে হয়েছে বহু মানুষকে। যে রাজ্যে যোগ্যতা বিক্রি হয়ে যায়, সেখানে বেকার ভাতা কি সম্মানের বিকল্প হতে পারে? একটা প্রজন্মকে যদি কর্মসংস্থানের বদলে ভাতার লাইনে দাঁড়াতে হয়, তাহলে সেটা সাফল্যের খতিয়ান নয়— সেটা নীতিগত ব্যর্থতার প্রতিচ্ছবি। এই রাজ্যের যুব সমাজ দয়া চায় না। তারা ভোটের আগে অনুদান চায় না। তারা চায় সুযোগ। তারা চায় স্বচ্ছ নিয়োগ। তারা চায় শিল্প। তারা চায় সম্মান নিয়ে নিজের পরিশ্রমে দাঁড়ানোর অধিকার। ১৫ বছরের শাসনের পর যদি ৪৫ লক্ষ যুবক-যুবতী নিজেদের বেকার বলে নিবন্ধন করে, তাহলে প্রশ্নটা খুব স্বাভাবিক— উন্নয়ন কোথায়? ভাতা দিয়ে হয়তো কিছুদিনের স্বস্তি দেওয়া যায়। কিন্তু ভবিষ্যৎ গড়া যায় শুধু কর্মসংস্থানের মাধ্যমে। এই রাজ্যের ভবিষ্যৎ ভাতার ওপর দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে পারে না। এটা দাঁড়াবে কাজ, শিল্প, স্বচ্ছতা আর যোগ্যতার ভিত্তিতে। সময় এসেছে আবেগ নয়, বাস্তবের হিসাব করার। সময় এসেছে প্রশ্ন করার— আমাদের প্রজন্ম কি শুধু ভাতার লাইনে দাঁড়ানোর জন্য জন্মেছে?

The Enforcement Directorate’s statement is a damning indictment of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. According to the ED, Mamata Banerjee, accompanied by a large contingent of police officials, personally entered the residential premises of Prateek Jain and removed crucial evidence, including physical documents and electronic devices. The CM’s convoy then proceeded to I-PAC’s office, where Mamata Banerjee, her aides, and state police personnel forcibly seized documents and electronic evidence linked to an ongoing investigation. These actions, as stated by the ED, amount to direct obstruction of a lawful investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). That a sitting Chief Minister would intervene in this manner, not to uphold the law, but to shield an agency involved in coal smuggling and money laundering, is nothing short of shameful. This is abuse of power at its worst.

ED raids at I-PAC in Kolkata. I-PAC is a private political consultancy company. CM Mamata Banerjee herself rushed to I-PAC chief Pratik Jain’s residence. Why would a CM rush to a businessman’s house, even if he is providing political consultancy services? What was the urgency?

@dir_ed But what's the ultimate outcome of these raids before elections only other than to create a narrative of doing something? No original culprit is yet convicted or punished. All these are looking like an eyewash to fool common public, nothing concrete will happen on ground sadly.

ED Headquarters Unit is conducting search action at 10 premises (6 in West Bengal and 4 in Delhi) under PMLA in connection with coal smuggling syndicate led by Anup Majee used to steal and illegally excavate coal from ECL leasehold areas of West Bengal. The search action was undertaken in a peaceful manner till the arrival of Chief Minister of West Bengal along with Police personnel and Officers of West Bengal administration who forcibly removed physical documents and electronic evidences in 2 of the premises. It is clarified that the search is evidence based and is not targeted at any political establishment. No party office has been searched. The search is not linked to any elections, and is part of regular crackdown on money laundering. The search is conducted strictly in accordance with established legal safeguards.

@umedpratapsingh If a CNF ticket is cancelled then deduction of tranx charges is justified but when a WL ticket is auto cancelled then it's not a fault of users. Why should users bear these unjustified charges as @IRCTCofficial couldn't confirm the tickets? This is unacceptable. @AshwiniVaishnaw

You book a ticket on IRCTC for 196 rs and it gets waitlisted. Ticket gets automatically cancelled and you get a refund of 125 rs. Overall IRCTC deducted 71 rs i.e, 36%. Isn't this a scam? If ticket is getting cancelled automatically then shouldn't we get full refund.
