@LensScientific Kinda did something like that years ago with A* and grid with randomized weights. But it is for cases when you know _where_ it should strike and where it goes from. Also after the main path is solved, I tried to add some smaller branches for the effect

You can model a lightning strike by letting it solve a maze. If there is no connection, nothing happens. The air simply resists. If there is a connection, that path becomes the easiest route, so the discharge snaps through it.

I kinda love the idea of loss32: Linux. But with a completely Win32 userland (including desktop environment) running via Wine. As of right now… it doesn’t actually exist. The gaming-focused Bazzite Linux distribution has banned a key, prolific developer from the project for "repeated violations of our Code of Conduct". @snintendog @_____Peter_ @LundukeJournal In the end I can just record launching random games (old and somewhat new) for 5-10 minutes to show them just work flawless, but I think that wouldn't satisfy you anyway because you just want to hate things.

@snintendog @_____Peter_ @LundukeJournal Did you back up your claims? I can't see "wayland gaming footage" that you not provided. Is there a special way of querying it on YT for it to show up? What about that 99% of games? Is there any link backing that up? Do I need to back up my claims if you just imagining stuff?

@snintendog @_____Peter_ @LundukeJournal Also I can admit that right now (just installed) there's no big difference between running Cyberpunk on X11 and Wayland, at least on my budget machine. A year ago it was 20-25 fps on X11 and 50-60 on Wayland, and now its 50+ in both on same settings without AI upscalers and stuff

@snintendog @_____Peter_ @LundukeJournal Your argument was about that wayland "can't play 99% of games" and you didn't really bring your proofs aside from "look at the footage" and not linking a single one. I just said that it works fine for my game library without artifacts and also that i've got some FPS improvement

@snintendog @_____Peter_ @LundukeJournal Yeah, sure, some random footage is very representable of the whole technology. I wouldn't be here writing that stuff if it wasn't working just fine for me. Linux gaming as whole is still not perfect considering all the hardware and drivers possible issues, but it's not _that_ bad

Most of games from my library are working on Wayland just fine, and some of them perform even better than on X11, like Cyberpunk 2077 or Doom Eternal. You can hate Wayland as much as you want, but you don't need to invent fake reasons.

@p1nkduud @fruttymoment I can understand that, i've fought with Nvidia too for some time, and now you can use something like Pop!_OS, because it's specifically deals with Nvidia, especially good in laptops with double GPU. And it's kinda just Debian with batteries included.

@Nefrace @fruttymoment Call me cattle all you want but it deals with Nvidia shit for me and does it well. Everything works out the box, gives me vanilla ish gnome, and leaves me alone to do my own thing. That's more than enough. I know, I can do it on other distros but god, I cannot be bothered

@f_11_n @tsoding Зависит от целей. Какое разрешение, число полигонов, целевой FPS, целевое железо и т.п. Ну или рисуйте с конца, но это тоже не бесплатно. Сортировка полигонов каждый кадр - дело весёлое. Пойди реши ещё, какой из полигонов спереди, когда они пересеклись.

@f_11_n @tsoding Z-буффер не просто так придумали. Добавь к пикселям кроме цвета значение глубины (дистанции от камеры до пикселя) и проверяй его для каждой грани. Там же можно и эффект тумана прикрутить и что-нибудь ещё.

@tsoding Я не понял как сделать так, чтобы не видно было через грани. В смысле я теоритически понимаю, типа надо луч до полигона и проверять не перекрывается ли он или типа того. Или отрисовывать сначала дальние, потом ближние вершины... непонятно, закрась зверушку короче

@normalmity @Shiro_Snep @RhysSullivan Autocompletion using tree-sitters/LSP and full blown LLM completing full blocks of code are completely different things, and it operates separately. For example in Zed you can turn off AI but still use LSP provided for you language. There's no problem with phrasing.

@Shiro_Snep @RhysSullivan It was completely overhauled in all popular IDEs a few years ago to use LLMs. That's why it went from suggesting the rest of a word to auto-completing entire snippets and suggesting chains of changes. This is a problem with phrasing in the steam rule imo.
