Western Australia accidentally conducted one of the world's largest real-world vaccine safety experiments. From April 2020 until March 2022, Western Australian was isolated from the rest of Australia and the world. Its borders were closed, and for almost two years there was virtually no community transmission of COVID-19. That makes Western Australia's data unique. Across 2020 and 2021, a population of around 2.7 million people recorded just 1,223 COVID-19 cases. Some of which were classified as ‘historical cases’, and only around 11% were acquired locally. Most cases were linked to international arrivals, known contacts, or existing cases/clusters. By the end of 2021, almost 4.1 million COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered in the state. According to the Western Australian Vaccine Safety Surveillance Annual Report 2021, the reported adverse event rate for all non-COVID vaccines was 11.1 per 100,000 doses. For COVID-19 vaccines, it was 264.1 per 100,000 doses. That is a reported adverse event rate per dose approximately 23.8 times higher than for all other vaccines combined. Those figures deserve attention. Western Australia's experience was unlike almost anywhere else on Earth. Millions of vaccine doses administered in a population with very limited exposure to the virus and a material spike in adverse events. If we are to learn from history, this data deserves our attention.

A female Fort Worth police officer was caught on camera threatening to ticket a retired federal law enforcement officer and Christian street preacher for “offensive speech.” The officer told the man that if someone is offended by his preaching, then “we have a problem” and said she would issue him a ticket. When he asked if she was really going to ticket him for offensive speech, she replied, “Yes, I am.” This is a blatant violation of the First Amendment. Police officers do not have the authority to ticket people for speech that offends others. That is the exact opposite of how freedom of speech works in America. The fact that this officer targeted a retired federal law enforcement officer who was simply preaching makes this even more unacceptable. Departments that employ officers who openly disregard the Constitution need to clean house. This kind of behavior erodes public trust and makes every good officer’s job harder. Too many people are misleading Americans about what the Supreme Court's birthright citizenship ruling actually means. Here's the truth. The Supreme Court ruled in Trump v. Barbara et al. (June 30, 2026) under its current interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment: children born in the United States to parents who are unlawfully or temporarily present are "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States and are therefore citizens at birth under the Citizenship Clause. Here is what this means: Congress cannot pass a simple bill overriding the Constitution as interpreted by the Supreme Court. A president cannot rewrite the Fourteenth Amendment with an executive order. Our constitutional system does not work this way. If Congress passed a law tomorrow ending birthright citizenship outright, it would almost certainly face an immediate constitutional challenge and would be overturned under current Supreme Court precedent. Weeks before this ruling, I introduced a constitutional amendment because amending the Constitution is the strongest and most permanent way to clarify the meaning of "subject to the jurisdiction" in the Fourteenth Amendment. Under the Supreme Court ruling this week, it is now the only way. If America wants to end birthright citizenship, Congress must amend the Constitution or a future Supreme Court must reach a different conclusion. Anyone promising a quick legislative fix is misleading the American people. Americans deserve honesty, not wishful thinking. If we are serious about ending birthright citizenship, we must pursue a constitutional amendment and do it the right way.
