Eight reported beatings or grabbing of the genitals. One reported witnessing a male detainee being raped by a dog."

Oh my god they're STILL doing this?? When you see how much shrieking vitriol the Israel apologists heap on the New York Times for doing critical journalism on Israel's abuses, you understand why the New York Times doesn't normally do critical journalism on Israel's abuses.
It's not all internal pressure. Sure the New York Times is run by empire propagandists and Israel supporters, but another under-appreciated factor in the biased nature of its reporting is that external pressures also give editors another tantalizing incentive not to allow criticism of Israel in their publication. If honest reporting on Israel is going to bring your paper weeks of uncomfortable negative attention, then you've got one more reason not to allow journalists to do honest reporting on Israel.

Ben Gvir represents an extreme fringe, and his mistreatment of detainees is abhorrent, wholly unjustifiable and antithetical to the liberal democratic principles at the heart of Israel’s founding and the values that LFI upholds. His antics yesterday only further demonstrate why Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decision to bring him into government was a catastrophic mistake.
