Welcome to my Profile! Here I post whatever crap I feel like and sometimes do Transit Adventure Threads, which are all linked below. As a Bay Area native, there is so much to explore and I encourage you to use transit to get there!

Let’s make it an L-I-R-R summer! We kicked off the start of our extra seasonal East End service with the Cannonball, our blazing fast Thursday/Friday express train from Penn Station to the Hamptons and Montauk! View schedules and buy tickets with the TrainTime app.

@LIRR @MTA Will these buses stop on the LIRR stations along those routes?

While LIRR service is suspended, we'll offer limited weekday shuttle bus service to/from six Long Island locations. Buses will run during peak hours with limited reverse-peak service on some routes. Be sure to give yourself ample time if you plan to take a shuttle bus. There's no charge for shuttles, but you'll need to tap and ride to transfer to the subway and MTA buses. Get details on shuttle bus sites at our website: mta.info/lirrstrike

@Ashmew8 muni is safe because the mass of people on it is usually enough to deter antisocial behavior

SF is such a safe city because wdym Muni has essentially zero security or police and is somehow exceptionally safe and clean usually

@MissionLoco @JackieFielder_ @lyft @AskLyft uh. This is how it always is during a work day. The bikes transfer for commute, and you would know that they go back if you actually used it? Also, Lyft has been doing a better job recently, bike availability has been noticeably better recently

The D9 staff of @JackieFielder_ doesn’t give squat about the Mission. The examples are so numerous it’s tragic. Bike share? Nope. @lyft @AskLyft stopped providing e-bikes pretty much everywhere from the Castro to Potrero, Bernal to the Fillmore. 100’s of complaints, no action.

@HaydenM16 if you get a chance take the bus out to Sollenkronka and then the ferry back. There is an island somewhere in the middle where you can get out and walk to another terminal to pick up another ferry about 40 minutes layer. greatest experience of my trip (bus was at like 5:30)

@bryanculbertson @NerdTransiting Ultimately, it needs a new bridge, with BART-to-SMART, and a bike lane. But 3 lanes of car traffic would overwhelm San Rafael.

This shuttle is the stupidest things considering the GGT 580 exists. The place that this shuttle is most desperately needed is the SM-Hayward Br. (also this bike path was nice to bike yes, but not a good use of space on this bridge, HOV lane + run more busses)
Marc Joffe@marcjoffe

Caltrans will spend the next 2+ years studying the equity implications of the Richmond San-Rafael bike lane which was serving a few dozen riders on most weekdays. Those riders now get a free shuttle ride over the bridge while drivers pay an $8.50 toll. marinij.com/2026/03/14/ric…

@bryanculbertson I write this on the 150 up to San Rafael right now, and so with this in mind we should also do an HOT lane from Marin City -> SF over the bridge :)

@bryanculbertson I wouldn't mind a shoulder but on the receiving end send 2 lanes north to 101 and 1 lane to Sir Francis Drake, there is space for it really. Another idea would be an HOT lane, as thats basically a bus lane and you get the benefit of some revenue.

@HaydenM16 thats so dumb what - do the drivers actually follow the speed limit of 35 cuz it looked like the parallel road could easily support 60+

on the south dade transit way and this thing is awful. Waiting over a minute at intersections that have the railroad gates. What’s even the point. Bus would be faster on the main road i believe
