@Nesslo3 @GMB But that's your choice. You don't have the holidays and paid childcare to factor in so can't have it both ways.

Today, MPs will debate whether parents should be allowed to take their children out of school for up to 10 days without getting a fine. Should term-time leave without fines be allowed?

@ChrisG01 @Nesslo3 @GMB I can’t speak for other parents. Mine always caught up. Not every hour in the classroom is relevant, especially at an early age. If it worked years ago, what has changed now?

@PCT28812752 @GMB If they’re genuinely sick of course they take the time off! And parents will often ask for the sounds if they’re at home with a sick child. But not when they go on holiday. I have 3 children never took them out for a holiday.

@Nesslo3 @GMB What about if they are genuinely sick? Are you saying they would never catch up? How about giving the parent the five phonic sounds that they are supposed to learn and they can do it whilst they are on holiday. Much more time to do it than in a classroom with 30 other kids.

@PCT28812752 @Nesslo3 @GMB And would the parents do that to the level the experienced teacher does? Or would they expect teachers to stay late to help them catch up later? More time maybe, or both working parents etc and little time.
