@JanChat56 @UKCivilService Being reported today on Facebook, that many people waiting for news on their pensions are being sent information on other people instead. It’s a fiasco.

@onetruefraggle @ChelseaDan5 It’s mince beef and gravy. The top and bottom crusts are different pastry’s. You need to turn the pie upside down and add vinegar (or chilli vinegar) and pepper. The green liquor is a must.

@SimonCalder Myself, my wife, son of 14 yrs old and my daughter 10 had to do this at Basel on New Year’s Day. My daughter just a photo. Will it be quicker the next time we travel or still end up in the same queue as people who haven’t had their finger prints taken?

@AlisonMoyet 1977, my last year in junior school and Sarah, the best swimmer in the school by miles, was not given the opportunity to do her gold medal award. Only the boys got to do that. Girls got up to silver award.

I can’t pretend not to know the struggles women faced & continue to. In my life time here some subjects were not open to us at school. I needed my father’s signature to open a bank account. In my ‘Hay Day’ my husband was responsible for my tax returns. Memories are so short.

The next U-turn HAS to be business rates. Without an overhaul, trust me - it will be a bloodbath for our pubs and plenty more. Our open letter to Reeves urging immediate change is now supported by an incredible 7,000 small business owners. We must keep the pressure on.

So my mum is having a huge life-saving op today. She had been feeling awful for days and was misdiagnosed with a strep throat. When she tried to see the GP to say the antibiotics weren't working, she was denied by the receptionist. Why are they medically gate keeping?

A writer so successful that today is a day dedicated to him in schools all over the country thinks it is reasonable that he travels for free due to his age. People have to stop taking things they do not need, it is wrong and it is bankrupting our country.

My Freedom Pass doesn't work. I went to the website to get a replacement Freedom Pass. It won't let me get a replacement Freedom Pass because the website says 'You do not currently have an active Freedom Pass.'

Rachel Reeves should know better – she must go. I’ve been a landlord for 26 years, a managing agent for 23, Past President of ARLA Propertymark, and a trainer for the London Landlord Accreditation Scheme for 21. Even if a letting agent is involved, the law is crystal clear. Under the Housing Act 2004, the legal duty sits with the landlord. It’s their responsibility to check if a licence is required, make the application, and pay the fee. An agent can assist — but that doesn’t transfer liability. In the eyes of the law, the buck stops with the landlord. And that applies to everyone — even the Chancellor. #RachelReeves #Landlords #HousingLaw #Accountability #Property thenegotiator.co.uk/news/regulatio…

@ChrisG01 @Nesslo3 @GMB I would be happy if it was managed well. I have seen lots of teachers who agree that it’s ok for kids to have time off. But of course it isn’t up to them.

@PCT28812752 @Nesslo3 @GMB No I was asking you if you would be happy with teachers having the same flexibility? There are many reasons why people can’t take holiday at certain times, I’m asking about the teaching piece

Good Morning Britain
Today, MPs will debate whether parents should be allowed to take their children out of school for up to 10 days without getting a fine. Should term-time leave without fines be allowed?

@ChrisG01 @Nesslo3 @GMB So are you saying that because teachers can’t take time off, the kids can’t? In that case, what about all of the parents with jobs where they can’t take time off in school holidays? I don’t know why we treat the hours in the classroom as the only relevant experience for kids.

@PCT28812752 @Nesslo3 @GMB Good question. More parents working full time? Less involvement in their kids education? Would you be happy with teachers taking time out? Not on massive wages and could do with family time? Would a TA for two weeks work for you and your kids?

@ChrisG01 @Nesslo3 @GMB My “kids” are in there 30’s. I wasn’t a stay at home Mum. My mum is nearly 90 and also went to work, like most working class families that I knew of at that time. How about in Scotland? What is different there? Does only one parent work?

@ChrisG01 @Nesslo3 @GMB I can’t speak for other parents. Mine always caught up. Not every hour in the classroom is relevant, especially at an early age. If it worked years ago, what has changed now?

@PCT28812752 @Nesslo3 @GMB And would the parents do that to the level the experienced teacher does? Or would they expect teachers to stay late to help them catch up later? More time maybe, or both working parents etc and little time.

@Nesslo3 @GMB I have two grown up daughters. I took them out every year. Made sure the dates never clashed with exams. Had wonderful experiences and made memories with family. Caught up with work. There is something wrong with the system if the teaching is so rigid that it can’t be flexible.

@PCT28812752 @GMB If they’re genuinely sick of course they take the time off! And parents will often ask for the sounds if they’re at home with a sick child. But not when they go on holiday. I have 3 children never took them out for a holiday.

@Nesslo3 @GMB What about if they are genuinely sick? Are you saying they would never catch up? How about giving the parent the five phonic sounds that they are supposed to learn and they can do it whilst they are on holiday. Much more time to do it than in a classroom with 30 other kids.

@GMB I am a TA, low income earner, I’m not allowed to take time off during term time for a cheaper holiday! I work in early years, our children are learning a new phonic sound everyday, if a child is out for 5 days that’s 5 sounds they’ve missed.

@MatthewTorbitt @waitrose A friend’s son had this problem with Sainsbury’s a few years ago. The people that placed him there didn’t want his Mum to complain as they would have problems getting others placed. Staff would chip in at Xmas and “pay” him. His Mum persevered & Sainsbury’s put him on the payroll
