Today the team laid a wreath in remembrance of fallen serviceman at the hall of memory in Birmingham. Notes were left with the wreath for fallen comrades of veterans serving on the team. Our veterans officer PC Rogers arranged the wreath and the laying of it.

Today we were part of a short but reflective remembrance service at Force HQ along with @SimonFosterPCC, @Rich_Cooke1, @fatherslandof and many more. Thank you to all that attended to show respect at this important time of the year 👏🏼

We are very proud to launch our #BeAChristmasHero Appeal for 2023! Over the years, our appeals have enabled us to deliver #Christmas to hundreds of #Veterans and their #families at a time of dire hardship and when the usual festive celebrations would be beyond their reach. It is heartbreaking that some Veterans are faced with the prospect of having to cancel Christmas plans due to hardship. Some will even feel they won't be able to see their children at Christmas as they believe that they are unable to provide food and gifts for them. For many years, we have provided fantastic Christmas support packages which literally deliver Christmas for those in need. Each package includes a huge #food shopping delivery which includes everything needed for a huge festive feast for the whole #family and also enough fresh, frozen and cupboard foods to see them well into the New Year. The packages also include a Gift Hamper which is packed with toys, treats, crafting items, decorations, wrapping, tags, tape and also an @amazon Gift Card so that the recipient is able to choose gifts for their partner/spouse of children. "I was so relieved and so thankful, I cried like a baby when the hamper was delivered. Being able to have my daughter for Christmas and seeing the look on her face when she saw all the decorations and the food meant the absolute world to me.” “I can’t tell you how much it means to me and my family. It is overwhelming. It has made [my husband] quite emotional to know that people do care about Veterans like him and we can’t say thank you enough!” Each year, we are so grateful to the many wonderful people, families and companies that choose to donate or fundraise to help provide the packages. Due to the huge increase in demand for our support and the numbers of people struggling financially, we need this year's appeal to be the best one yet! Pleasure to open the @HonourGuardWMP recruitment day this morning & great to see colleagues putting themselves forward for this exacting, but highly rewarding & important responsibility. Ably led by Sgt. Ben Westwood (pictured) they do an awesome job at the most tragic moments.
