@itsthienvuvo I think getting equity from an early stage proven app would be the best option for you. Get significant equity from someone already at 20k MRR and scale them to 100k in a short time. Much higher leverage than monthly retainer as an agency.

i have a community of 80+ ugc creators and people keep asking me "why don't you build an app and scale it with your creator community?" my initial thoughts: i'm running my mentorship, building my personal brand, and scaling my agency. is it even worth my time? plus i could partner with founders and scale together with a proven product rather than starting fresh on my own. i believe i'm spending my time on the right things. with any successful company, you have to dedicate your full attention to it in order to blow it up. so it's just not worth my time rn. let me know what you think, would love any advice

i’m not trying to say anyone can do this nor will it be easy or happen fast as it did here, but i will say: it’s possible. and it’s possible without any paid ads, and 100% solo effort making my own tiktoks and coding app myself. nowadays a 1 man team is old 5 man team.

@nicholasnlawton They have to be a generalist to some extent. Startups require you to understand and work with every ‘department’ closely. A pure specialist is great for the exploit part of the cycle of a business. Startups are mostly in the explore stage, so every hire has to embody that spirit.

what are some non-negotiables in an early startup hire? don't say willing to work hard or cracked either.

This is a very dumb take from a very smart man This is just the most obvious thing given that you’re taking startup revenue as the starting point for comparison. So, obviously less people will have a ton of followers. A good comparison would be to compare the ratio of followers of founders vs the avg distribution of followers among all X accounts.

If anything this proves less followers = more revenue
