It's a victorious day for women and girls across the continent! The 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the AU has just adopted the #AUEVAWGConvention, a first of its kind comprehensive continental instrument to address #VAWG in Africa.

On the second day of the consultative meeting on the AU Draft Convention on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), deliberative discussions focused on legal perspectives to counter VAWG, alongside ILO Convention 190 concerning violence and harassment in the world of work.
