The President has broad authority under INA § 212(f) to suspend entry of any class of aliens or impose any restrictions he deems appropriate whenever their entry would be detrimental to U.S. interests. The Supreme Court upheld this expansive power in Trump v. Hawaii (2018), confirming the President can decide who enters, on what conditions, and for how long. This includes the ability to require medical testing — such as pregnancy tests for women — as a condition of entry. The statute is not limited to the specific health grounds in INA § 212(a)(1). The President can define classes of aliens (including pregnant women and their spouses/families) whose entry is detrimental, for example due to birthright citizenship, public resource burdens (demonstrated through the % of them on welfare), or sovereignty concerns often described as an "invasion" through anchor babies. More, by applying the requirement to the entire family unit, equal protection issues are avoided. The plenary power over immigration gives wide latitude for such measures. This policy is fully within the President's legal authority under current law and precedent. The question is, since Congress and the @Republicans @HouseGOP and @SenateGOP are fucking USELESS, will @POTUS have the sense and the balls to actually do something?

@NicBee08 @RandPaul That would make the law unconstitutional because it is in direct defiance of the interpretation of the 14th amendment. Nice try.

Automatic citizenship at birth should mean something. My amendment ensures it applies to the children of citizens and legal residents, not to those who broke our laws to get here.

@NancyMace Kavanugh left the door open. He stated congress has to make the change. They can amend 8 U.S.C. § 1401(a). A constitutional amendment will never pass. Don't be misled by the blackpilled.

Don't be misled by claims on the RIGHT that birthright citizenship can be easily changed! The Supreme Court has definitively ruled in Trump v. Barbara et al. (June 30, 2026) that children born in the United States to parents who are unlawfully or temporarily present are indeed "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States and are citizens at birth under the Fourteenth Amendment's Citizenship Clause. This means that birthright citizenship, as affirmed by the Court, is a constitutional guarantee. It cannot be altered by a simple legislative act or executive order. Any attempt to do so would be held unconstitutional under the Court's majority opinion. The idea that a bill can override a constitutional interpretation by the Supreme Court is a fundamental misunderstanding of our legal system, often used to prey on those who don't fully grasp the implications of a SCOTUS decision. I drafted a constitutional amendment weeks ago that redefines "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" in the Constitution. This is the only real path forward, as the majority opinion makes it clear that birthright citizenship is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment and cannot be changed by a simple bill. And if NOT by a Constitutional Amendment, the only other way to fix it is by a separate, different Supreme Court decision (which ain't happening any time soon). Understand the facts: The Constitution, as interpreted by the Supreme Court, guarantees this right. It's not something that can be undone by a quick fix in Congress or by presidential decree. A constitutional amendment would be required to change this, not a simple law.

@RandPaul Amend the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C. § 1401(a), to clarify "children born to temporary visitors or those in the country illegally" and "subject to the jurisdiction". We don't need a constitutional amendment right now.

Trump’s plan to end birthright citizenship has hit a major roadblock. The Supreme Court ruled against his executive order, and Amy Coney Barrett’s vote has conservatives questioning whether the Court is still protecting the Constitution.

New York: it's hot out there, and the power grid is working overtime to keep us cool. Set your AC to 78 degrees, turn off lights/electronics you're not using, and unplug what you can. Our City is doing its part too: maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming/turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment. A stable grid means the AC stays on, and lives are saved. Let's ease demand — and get through the heat — together.
