Just watched an RIA spend 45 minutes reconstructing a client meeting from memory. The conversation? Priceless. The documentation nightmare? Completely avoidable. If you're still manually taking meeting notes in 2025, this thread will change your practice ↓

@cursor_ai hey guys - can you allow disabling of, or throttle FPS on all css animations in your electron app - they use 25% of my M4 Max Macbooks' GPU. That's an insane battery drain for a spinner. Cursor is literally causing 10,000s of hours of wasted battery every day for developers working on battery.

Is anyone doing a no-persistence AI note-taker? Like Granola, but nothing is persisted server-side, and notes editable post-call before being saved. Would sell like hotcakes.

The way we interact with the web is about to change. A lot. Last week we had a fun internal hackathon to prototype something Mike and I have dreamed about for years, and recent advancements in LLMs combined with our passion for building local, personal, superpower desktop apps has unlocked. The premise behind Quill browser, or ‘B’ for short, is this: imagine a personal assistant for the entire internet, secure and local, separate from your main browser, but with memory, your personal logins safely stored, and agency to do many things in parallel. It even asks for help when needed or if something sensitive is about to happen. Basically, imagine ChatGPT or Cursor but for the web. What we built is really just a glimpse of what we think is inevitably coming, in one form or another. It doesn’t work perfectly all the time, but in just a few days we unlocked a clear path for the future. At Quill, we are all about democratizing and distilling powerful AI capabilities into local, private, personalized tools. Not just because we care about consumers (which we do), but because with a hyper-personalized tool rolled out to the whole org, enterprises can truly unlock each employee’s potential. If you’re interested in learning more, get in touch, or join the waitlist here - quillmeetings.com/browser #AI #Agentic #productivity #web

@thorclark @jeremyclee @auth0status 100% agree. terrible uex. another infuriating trip to a status page to see 'everything is fine' meanwhile my entire auth0 account appeared to be deleted and require brand new setup. nice.

@jeremyclee @auth0status Well, looks all green and no signal that you need to scroll on this tiny dropdown… Hopefully it is not their strategy to have so many outages that we all become experts in their status page UI ;)

@rauchg Sending all recordings to be processed/stored in their cloud is still a blocker for me. x.com/gniting/status…
Nitin@gniting

@deedydas Granola stores every recording on their servers. All processing is done off local device. This is a nightmare scenario for any team/company that wishes to achieve or maintain compliance. Here's an alternative that looks promising: withnutshell.com

It's actually unbelievable how good granola.ai is. It replaces writing documents. It's the killer user research tool. The ability to "chat with the transcript" to come back to a point that was made is pure gold. There's no going back to pre-granola days.

@rauchg Total non starter for me. Yet another tool sending confidential information to a black box where you have to explicitly trust adherence to TOS and Privacy Policy. Lightning-Whisper-MLX with Rogue Amoeba Loopback for me. Though not the most accurate, but expect that to get better.

@natfriedman Nice to see people trying these better notetakers. Try quill - quillmeetings.com - audio stays locally, zero cloud retention for privacy, amazing, rich notes, also takes input from user, but its optional.

Been using granola.so a bit lately; it generates the best meeting notes of anything I've tried so far. Not sure how they did that.

@mpdaugherty and I started Quill (quillmeetings.com/try) to securely transcribe and create really great notes & content on any platform, without a bot, without audio leaving your device, and without even logging any of your data. We call it the first 'Meeting Client'.

I think that this is the best choice both for my family and for my career. I am very excited to be able to put more time into my stream and youtube, as well as work in North America and Europe more easily. If there are any questions, please feel free to ask.

After living and working in Korea for 14 years, I'll be making a change. Later this year I will be moving to Canada (PEI specifically). GSL Code S Season 3 will be my last tournament before leaving.

The airline websites say that before flying back to the U.S. from abroad, you must show proof of a negative SUPERVISED (telehealth) Covid test within 1 day of the flight—not just a home kit. Americans flying back from the UK: Were you asked for this before boarding? Thank you…

@sfchronicle This article is more fun to read if you replace all instances of “COVID” with “bad head cold”. It also makes whole thing seem kinda stupid.

@shivon Any person-to-person communication forces thoughts around a subject to be refined and helps bring clarity to the thinker. So in some ways, speech may actually improve overall communication because it kickstarts a processing of the subject that wouldn't otherwise happen.

What % communication loss is there between two people in a verbal conversation? Between unclear word choices, differences in the preloaded constructs in each party’s head, and differing emotions and incentives it feels like it averages to north of 20%? Curious what others think.
