@Number10cat @I_W_M My Dad landed on Sword Beach with 41Co RM. That’s him standing up; their 1stIC was killed so Dad took the lead and stood up so the group knew who was in command. They got off the beach & achieved their objective. He was 23 - and personally awarded the MC for bravery by Montgomery

This is an image from @I_W_M of British Commandos on a landing craft approaching Sword Beach on D-Day, 6th June 1944. War is a horrific thing; these men left their loved ones to enter its hellish cauldron. Some never returned. We remember their immense bravery and sacrifices so that they should never be necessary again.

Seems like massive rowing back from POTUS in face of profound volatility… universal 10% still applies…whole world joins UK (0 trade deficit) on 10 no material difference between 104 & 125 re China - stops most trade… Rest of world now invited to join US pressure on China…
