Anyone know if there are any plans to make it possible to set a metafield to use in Analytics via API.
Understand the potential for abuse, but would really be so much cleaner to run analytics purely based on two metafields. @nicgrasset

Yes, another frustrating change. Huge difference between what you can do with 16kb and 2MB.

Shopify sets new metafield limit to 16 KB (previously 2 MB for JSON and 64 KB for others) and no one is talking about it? This is really bad.

Don’t keep sleeping on them memberships. @TaylorHoliday - per your request…. YTD cohort comparison of member vs subscribe and save customer vs those who carry both a subscription and membership. And yes we gotta improve our subscription numbers.

What do your Metaobjects look like? Are they customer/order/product/variant related?

@ShopifyDevs any changes "Use in Analytics" will work for metaobject references at some point? It's the main convention I use for structuring data.

Shopify is building the foundation for agentic commerce.
Universal Commerce Protocol, which we co-developed with Google, is now live. UCP will make it faster for agents and retailers to integrate.
It’s open by default, so platforms and agents can use UCP to start transacting with any merchant. Major retailers are already using it.
Agents can handle everything from discovery to fulfillment, and support things like discounts, subscriptions, and loyalty programs. We’ve accounted for all types of commerce.

Worked today on making a Shopify analytics MCP so the team can serve our clients better.
It's really powerful, could even get better results than sidekick on some requests (about payment method somehow)
one annoying stuff : fields of shopifyql are not documented, only syntax.

@tobi ShopifyQL is great! Is there a reason it doesn’t support ISO datetime conditions and instead uses offsets like -12h, -3d, etc?
