The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre @ASRC1 was robbed again last night. That’s twice in two days. I’m trying my best to still hold onto my compassion.
What matters is everyone is safe, everything else can be replaced.

Compassion means having it even when it’s hard. Today is one of those days as I came to work to discover the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre had been robbed overnight. Doors kicked in, rooms trashed, window broken, laptops stolen. Police are now assisting us. 1/3

Two years after this stay at UCH, and further 3 months Out Patient rehabilitation, still going strong at 91. Keeping up gym, tai chi, hydrotherapy. So appreciate excellent care by ACT Health- prognosis for hip fracture at 89 generally not great.

Friends: it is wonderful to finally be back at home, after sterling work by ACT Health/Canberra Hospital/University of Canberra Hospital. To look out from my bedroom into the flowering wattle, past the ti-tree,the waratah and the protea is a delight even if it's raining.

@DaveMilbo Exactly! Everyone has a way of understanding the world that frames their thinking and public statements. To pretend otherwise is dishonest. Transparency is much preferred!

I have ALWAYS struggled with this. Pretending journalists do not hold opinions is dishonest, and it *obviously* isn't true. Far better to declare a position openly, without pretending it's a holy text from make believe Impartial Land, and then present evidence.

The entire impartiality spiel is the perfect three card trick for journalists. Works wonders if everyone is in good faith but that is of course nobody.
