@_Checkmatey_ Because the fees are cheap. Can say the same thing about Tron. Everyone is issuing stables and most will not run on a blockchain. Stables on blockchains are still layer 2s, so the blockchain itself is irrelevant. If that’s all Ethereum has, it’s not enough.

A solid reflective piece from David, and he is right. Ethereum (the blockchain) is, and will be very successful. That does not translate to value capture for ETH (the asset). There is no mechanism for it to benefit from that success. John Pfeffer articulated this in 2017.

Iran was trying to use the North Korean model to get a nuke: create sufficient conventional deterrence so you won’t be challenged in acquiring one (it’s called the Seoul Hostage Problem). This has been explained over and over since day one. Everyone claiming shifting goalposts or no imminent threat has been lying. The reason North Korea was allowed to get nukes is because Seoul (and its 10 million inhabitants) is within artillery and rocket range of North Korea. During the 1994 nuclear crisis, the Clinton administration seriously considered airstrikes on North Korea’s Yongbyon reactor but backed off precisely because of the artillery threat to Seoul. Iran was trying to accomplish the same by stockpiling missiles and drones which would have had the same deterrent effect. The proof is what Iran has been doing in the past month: attacking all its neighbors in order to pressure the US to stop attacking it Beyond this, they were building medium-range ballistic missiles that could reach Paris and London, meaning all of Europe could be held hostage as they built a nuclear bomb. The reason Iran has not built a nuclear weapon until now is not because it couldn’t, but because it knew it would be attacked and denied this capability. So by allowing them to continue developing this conventional deterrence, you would be allowing Iran to get a nuclear weapon. And unlike North Korea, Iran is led by an eschatological death cult Reagan saw nuclear mutually assured destruction (MAD) as both morally bankrupt (because of the innocent-body-count problem) and dangerously fragile because it assumed flawless rationality between adversaries…this means it only takes one irrational actor to destroy the world. Working backwards from the conclusion that Iran’s Islamist regime must never have a nuclear weapon, it was necessary for the US to attack Iran to deny it the conventional capacity to hold the entire eastern hemisphere hostage. Every European leader knows this and behind the scenes praises the US for this action. But they are cowards, held hostage by their own internal Muslim populations, and so adopt these ridiculous public positions. This was never about Israel. And if your argument is that Iran should be allowed to get a nuclear weapon then you are a fool and a traitor to western civilization…you’re a useful idiot

Mit der Gefahr boomerhaft zu klingen, aber ich bin vom Wahlverhalten der Gen-Z bisschen ernüchtert. Früher Grüne, dann FDP und jetzt AfD. Es scheint, als ob viele ihre Wahl vom aktuellen Vibe und vom Tik-Tok-Game der Parteien abhängig machen. Ja es gibt reale Probleme, aber die Lösung liegt mit Sicherheit nicht darin eine völlig verlogene, unanständige und ideologische Partei zu wählen, die außer Missgunst und Wut rein gar nichts anzubieten hat😢

Wisst ihr, dem rechten Spektrum würde es ja durchaus mal gut tun, sich mit den tieferliegenden Problemen zu befassen, warum Frauen kaum noch Kinder wollen und Beziehungen häufig nicht mehr von Dauer sind. Die Kernfamilie in Deutschland zerfällt. Die Zahl der Alleinerziehenden bricht jedes Jahr einen neuen Rekord. Millionen Kinder wachsen in Haushalten auf, in denen Mama und Papa getrennt sind. Abwesende Elternteile werden zur Regel. Dabei ist auch der Vater meines Erachtens so wichtig für die Entwicklung. Wer das, wie ich, nicht will, entscheidet sich immer öfter gegen Kinder und Partnerschaft. Du könntest das Problem natürlich staatlich mit Geld zuschütten und es würde trotzdem kaum etwas daran ändern, dass immer mehr Frauen wie ich Single by Choice und gewollt kinderlos sind. Und das triggert viele, ich weiß. Weil sie dadurch das Gefühl haben, Frauen wie mich in ihrem Willen nicht kontrollieren zu können. Aber die Ursache hierin - und ich habe das jetzt so oft gesagt - liegt in der fehlenden Verlässlichkeit, Attraktivität und Beschützermentalität vieler westlicher Männer. Immer mehr Frauen sind nicht mehr bereit, für eine Beziehung mit einem Mann, der ohnehin maximal mittelmäßig ist, ihr Seelenheil und ihre Träume zu opfern. Und das macht diese Männer so wenig begehrenswert, dass man auch gut auf sie verzichten kann. Früher war es schon aus wirtschaftlichen Gründen notwendig für Frauen, zu heiraten. Erstmals in der Menschheitsgeschichte brauchen Frauen Männer jedoch nicht mehr für das Finanzielle. Jetzt kommt es eben allein darauf an, was er ihr menschlich zu bieten hat. Und wenn man sich die Kommentare von vielen Männern unter solchen Videos anschaut, dann bestätigt das nur, dass es hier exorbitanten Nachholbedarf gibt. Also, zieht gerne über mich her. Mobbt mich, beleidigt mich. Unterstellt mir, eine unglückliche, frustrierte Männerhasserin zu sein. Aber das ändert nichts daran, dass ich Recht habe. Ps: Ich habe das Video nur auf Instagram und TikTok hochgeladen, weil ich wusste, dass man diesen ironisch gemeinten Präsentationsstil, der gerade auf Instagram trendet, hier nicht checkt. Dass aber Menschen dieses Video von Instagram downloaden und hier neu hochladen, nur um sich in Kommentaren darüber auszulassen, wie traurig mein Leben ist oder dass es sie gar nicht interessiert, hat seine ganz eigene Ironie.

In case you want to / have to leave a region for whatever reason (e.g. war), Bitcoin by far is the best asset as you can take it with you. Real estate is by far the worst. Total value of global real estate 330 Billion - Bitcoin 1,4 Billion. That will change a lot in the future.

@Citrini7 here's to hoping. the only thing i can think of is "corporations move slower than this, there's a lot of compliance red tape, and managers love their headcount", but that only seems like it buys a few years. still seems too fast for society to adjust.

@YIMBYLAND You’re wrong. Look at Florida to see what the coast would look like if there was no coastal commission. Keep California coast and beaches accessible to the public, not walled off by ugly condos and hotels, not to mention the wealthy.
