As I had warned, FT, Bloomberg, WSJ - what Trump calls "China Street Journal", CNBC, Reuters, NYT, BBC, DW, Guardian and many others will now do hit piece after hit piece on India and Modi. Brown Sepoys of these GLISCO-DS media and sell outs inside India will dance to their tunes and perform such pathetic pieces to entertain their masters. They will also use their networks in western nations, inside EU & UK's govts, judiciary, and administrations, to create and plant fake news reports of corruption and scams against Indian govt. Because they know the coming months, due to energy and other crises, are the best time to attack Modi and India to weaken both. Right now to next summer is the time every patriotic Indian, Indian organization, and company must offer unwavering support to the elected govt. India's biggest adversary influenced GLISCO-DS is coming for India. Once India is put into anarchy and political instability, they will come for India militarily by next summer. They tried this in 2020 after inciting protests and anarchy, after sending Covid, thinking India will be weak, but got a broken nose and blackened eye trying their misadventure. But they sure are going to try again this year to cause anarchy and govt instability in India. The GoI must also prepare and preempt this upcoming tsunami of attacks. No more adhoc and knee jerk reactions to their hit jobs using media, fake reports, and social media psyops. Acknowledge the DS, recognize it, train every diplomat and official to understand the real hidden hand behind, no matter attack seems to come from Europe, UK or US. And create a comprehensive strategy to fight their "war by other means" against India at the highest level now.

It's very clear seeing the leading signals on social media: Every news, and more fake news, are going to be used by the DS to instigate Indians against the PM and GoI in the coming months. It's going to be a barrage, no a deluge, of negative news (mainly Reuters, Bloomberg, WSJ, FT) and propaganda to try disillusion the most hardcore supporters. To prepare the base for protests and anarchy to try create govt instability in India. But they will fail in the end. Because these losers, the communists and islamists, don't get India.

@HelleLyngSvends @HPhobiaWatch She is lying, she spoke to me too 😂 Said her fat looks & poor paycheck makes it difficult to attract Norwegian men; such stunts make her pay her bills. It's not her fault; she's trying her best in life.

I talked to her on phone. She sounded pretty cool. I tried asking the question she was trying to ask Modi. She just said Modi is committing human rights violation and Indian people don't like him. I said Modi won 3 out of 5 state elections a week ago and she got confused and asked how many states are there? 😭

I never thought I would have to write this, but I am not a foreign spy of any sort, sent out by any foreign government. My work is journalism, primarily in Norway now.

Did you know that ancient Greeks described Indian society as a land with no slaves, no written laws, and a king guarded by elite women warriors? When the Greek ambassador Megasthenes lived in India around 300 BC, what he saw completely amazed him. One of his most shocking observations was how safely farmers lived. Megasthenes wrote that even during the bloodiest wars, farmers were treated as sacred. While armies fought nearby, soldiers would leave farmers completely alone to work their fields in peace. Equally mind-blowing was the king’s security team. Emperor Chandragupta did not trust regular male soldiers to protect him. Instead, his inner palace corridors were guarded by a highly trained troop of armed women warriors. Even the smartest people faced strict rules. The highest social class belonged to the Philosophers, whose job was to predict the weather and monsoons for the government. But there was a catch: if a philosopher’s predictions failed three times, they were legally banned from speaking for the rest of their life. Furthermore, Megasthenes was stunned by how much Indians valued freedom. Coming from Greece and Rome, where slavery was brutal and widespread, he wrote in awe that all Indians were free and no one was treated as a slave. Finally, the honesty of the people surprised him. He noted that in a massive military camp of 400,000 men, thefts almost never happened. Because people trusted each other so deeply, society ran smoothly without written contracts or law books, relying entirely on custom and word of mouth. #archaeohistories

Helle Lyng is a perfect example of dishonest journalists. Helle has 840 followers. Dagsavisen, the newspaper she works for has 48.2k followers. The last post by this newspaper on X was on Jan 22. 😂😂 Small Newspapers like these are not even invited to such events, they are planted by political agents. Dagsavisen newspaper is small and irrelevant and even worse than several smaller local and specialized papers in Norway. It is not even in top 40 newspapers of Norway. Dagsavisen also lost roughly 40% of its total daily reach in a year-over-year comparison. The total circulation (paid subscriptions across print and digital) fell to less than 14000 subscriptions. The newspaper is literally struggling to even pay salary to its Journalists. On top of that, it was not a Press Conference. It was a joint briefing. Reporters just take down what the leaders say and leaders leave after that. What she did was dishonest and that is why traditonal media and journalists like her are hated.

Primeminister of India, Narendra Modi, would not take my question, I was not expecting him to. Norway has the number one spot on the World Press Freedom Index, India is at 157th, competing with Palestine, Emirates & Cuba. It is our job to question the powers we cooperate with.

Prashant Jain: "The best times to buy India is when foreigners are selling." Read it twice. It's the entire framework. FIIs sell when: → Dollar is strong → US rates rise → Global risk-off → EM allocation cuts hit 2008: record outflows during GFC. Nifty 5x in 5 years. 2020 March: heaviest single-month FII selling. Nifty doubled in 18 months. 2022: another record outflow year. New highs followed. The pattern repeats because the cause repeats: FIIs sell on global macro, not Indian fundamentals. Earnings keep compounding. Valuations get cheaper. The setup builds but retail panics.

Our Brown Sepoy for the day is Abhishek Vishnoi, a regular feature in news outlets like Bloomberg Abhishek believes since India is not directly competing with Korea and Taiwan in chip making, there is no ecosystem being built at all. Abhishek ignores the billions being poured into the semiconductor ecosystem, including the Tata-PSMC fab in Dholera and Micron's ATMP facilities. Abhishek also ignores over the fact that 1,500 global multinationals have their R&D and tech hubs in India. The intellectual property and AI applications driving Western companies are being heavily developed by Indian talent on Indian soil. Abhishek says that Indian IT services are "liabilities" because generative AI will automate coding and back-office functions The Reality: We have heard this exact doomsday prediction during every major tech shift: the dot-com bust, the rise of cloud computing, and the advent of SaaS. Every time, Indian IT was pronounced dead; every time, it emerged larger. We expect Abhishek to be more thorough in his research next time.

Never seen so much pessimism regarding India in my twenty years of studying macro and markets. Not in 2008, 2013, 2020. AI is a positive for India. There is absolutely no sign of Indian service exports slowing down in the latest data. If a $20k guy in Pune is to be laid off, a $200k guy in Philly is even more on the chopping block. If anything giving them both the latest AI reduces any competence gap. Regarding AI supply side, Sarvam etc just received more investment and we are continuing to work on the semiconductor side. Second/third mover advantage on the cheap is not a small thing here. Actually, AI has in part negated the platform winner-takes-all economics of US Big Tech by making it capex-intensive. Of course national security considerations remain. The rupee is extremely oversold. The gold/silver import restriction moderate measures have just kicked in. Ex-gold we have been in significant trade and current account surplus for many years. US 10y is now 4.6%. Gas and mortgage rates are off the chart there. Rising long-end of the yield curve and rapidly rising AI capex theme both cannot go on together for much longer. We have to be patient: my view remains India is by far the world's greatest investment opportunity amongst the major themes available today. Of course as part of a diversified asset allocation so that we can live another day to be wrong if needed :)

The Guru comes and turns your attention to the spark within. By its very nature the mind is outward turned; it always tends to seek for the source of things among the things themselves; to be told to look for the source within, is, in a way, the beginning of a new life.

We now firmly understand why the Trump administration hoarded a hundred CEOs like sardines on a plane and flew them straight to Beijing. China used its absolute dominance over rare earth mineral mining and processing to force Washington to the negotiating table. In doing so, Beijing has effectively won the tariff war. Indeed, the first priority in this series of US-China trade deals is telling: China will "address" US concerns regarding supply chain shortages related to rare earths and other critical minerals. This is a diplomatic way of saying the United States surrendered. Recall that in early 2025, the Trump administration launched the "Liberation Day" tariffs. These measures specifically targeted China and spiked the cost of Chinese goods in America, threatening the Chinese economy. China ended that war instantly by choking off US access to critical minerals. By restricting exports of neodymium, dysprosium, yttrium, and scandium, Beijing paralyzed the American high-tech sector. These minerals are essential for the production of heavy duty magnets and high-performance motors. Without them, the US is unable to develop advanced military jets like the F-35, precision-guided munitions, or even the semiconductors that power modern infrastructure. Now that China has agreed to "address" these self-imposed restrictions, the conclusion is obvious: the US has agreed to a total tariff reset. The other points of the deal are equally revealing. China has restored "access" to US beef markets and agreed to purchase up to $19 billion of US agricultural products before the end of 2026. The irony here is staggering. All of these market advantages were already in place before the reckless trade wars initiated by the Trump administration. China purchased over $24 billion in US agricultural products in 2024 alone. In previous peak years, those purchases reached $29 billion. After the disastrous tariffs of 2025, that figure cratered to a mere $8 billion. This collapse was devastating to US agricultural markets. It pushed thousands of American farmers to the brink of bankruptcy and forced many to threaten the closure of their family businesses. China has managed to emerge victorious from this trade war by masterfully targeting the American agricultural heartland and weaponizing the minerals that power the Pentagon. Beijing allowed the US to inflict pain on itself, waited for the American industrial base to scream, and then dictated the terms of the peace. Washington is now celebrating a "return" to trade levels that are actually lower than they were two years ago. China did not just survive the "Liberation Day" assault: it used its leverage to prove that the United States cannot maintain its military or economic edge without Chinese permission. This is not a trade victory for the White House. This is a controlled surrender to the reality of Chinese supply chain supremacy.
The Kobeissi Letter@KobeissiLetter

BREAKING: The White House announces multiple US-China trade deals and developments following President Trump's meeting with China's President Xi. Details include: 1. China will address US concerns regarding supply chain shortages related to rare earths and other critical minerals 2. China has approved an initial purchase of 200 American-made Boeing aircraft for Chinese airlines 3. China will purchase at least $17 billion per year of US agricultural products in 2026, 2027, and 2028 4. China has restored market access for US beef by renewing expired listings of more than 400 US beef facilities and adding new listings 5. China has resumed imports of poultry from US states determined by the USDA to be free of highly pathogenic avian influenza President Xi will be visiting the White House this fall.
