UPDATE: Since becoming aware of suspicious activity in our Hosted Exchange environment on 12/2, we’ve determined that the isolated disruption is the result of ransomware and our security team is working with a lead cyber defense firm to investigate. Status:bit.ly/3ui4CGk
@Rackspace I would have one year worth of emails on my computer's Outlook (without needing to pull from the server). But now they're gone once I switched to the new server. I'm assuming they're still somewhere on my computer and retrievable via Outlook, but not sure.
@Rackspace Anyone have any advice on how to fix this?: I moved my emails to MS Exchange directly. Re-set up my email. Logged back in on my Outlook 2021 on my computer with the new info. Emails started working. But all the previous emails that I had on my computer/Outlook are now gone.
@Rackspace If anyone gets through can you try to find out what can be done to simply get the backups of our emails? Even if delayed in restoring, we should be able to get all our emails as a .pst file.
Hosted Exchange outage: Along with M365, a temporary solution allows mail destined for Hosted Exchange to be sent to external emails. Rackers are calling customers, emailing alternate addresses and addressing chats & tickets. Please view status info: bit.ly/3ui4CGk.
UPDATE: Hosted Exchange outage. We’ve restored email services to thousands of customers on M365 and mobilized 1k+ support Rackers to reduce wait times & address tickets. We’ll keep deploying resources to aid customers. Please visit status page for details. bit.ly/3ui4CGk
@SamSapp13@Rackspace Thanks... got it setup (and in the process)! Anyone know what mobile (Android) settings need to be changed to in order to sync to new Microsoft server to get emails on the phone?
We continue to work to determine the full impact of the Hosted Exchange issue. Since our last update, we have assisted numerous customers to get them online so they can resume activity. Please visit our status page for more details. bit.ly/3ui4CGk

@NitinSud_@Rackspace On the go, since you can start by signing up for office 365 tenant(this is a control center where you will manage all your emails by yourself. You can use this direct link to choose one plan and click on buy microsoft.com/en-sg/microsof…
@NitinSud_@Rackspace The main thing is to make sure that you have control on the DNS settings for each of your domains- and if you decide to move to Office 365 - I suggest you do it directly through Microsoft and not the Rackspace offering.
@TWil64@Rackspace Not what you want to hear, but you are likely looking at days/weeks before they are back online. If it’s what is rumoured, they need to restore from backups and then fully verify they aren’t compromised, which is not quick.
@rltarch@Rackspace If you have email archiving with Rackspace, you can actually see emails you have recently received. Go to "Manage my Archive" and then Create a search. Search for emails after Dec. 1, 2022.
@Rackspace What is the interim solution for (very) small businesses like me, that don't have admins? I'm an Architect not an IT guy and just need my emails. No idea what to do. Help?
UPDATE: Hosted Exchange outage. After triaging to understand the extent of the impact, we've determined that this is a security incident. Again, we apologize for the disruption. Please see our status page for details, as we update at least every 12 hours. bit.ly/3ui4CGk
@Rackspace If you have email archiving with Rackspace, you can actually see emails you have recently received. Go to "Manage my Archive" and then Create a search. Search for emails after Dec. 1, 2022. Obviously not great, but it's something.
To our valued customers who were impacted today by the issue on your Hosted Exchange account, we are sorry for the disruption & we appreciate your patience. An update & solution for you can be found on our status page. bit.ly/3OUnkNL
