An estimated HALF-MILLION New Jerseyans will not be receiving federal unemployment benefits this week because of the President’s delay to sign the stimulus bill. I agree that more stimulus was and remains needed, but this was the wrong way to go about it.

People act like @NJDeptofHealth Commissioner Persichilli's failure to submit our nursing home info on time to DC is the only example of her negligence. She's been failing to listen to us on nursing homes from the start, and NJ has the highest LTC death rate in the US. Resign!

You know what's funny? @GovMurphy doesn't even really like or respect @NJDeptofHealth Commissioner Persichilli (I mean, how could he with her abysmal performance?) He's just keeping her on to save face and pretend things went totally swell with the LTC response.

The only thing I would add to this accurate timeline: Literally every day in between those dates, @NJDeptofHealth Commissioner Persichilli and her senior team were getting pinged by us WARNING THAT LTCs WERE ABOUT TO EXPLODE WITH DEATHS UNLESS SHE PAID ATTENTION.

... reports and research then, not secret intelligence he was getting... In February the science was also less clear. Meanwhile, nursing homes in Seattle and NY were RAGING well before LTC outbreaks started here. Amazing what she and @GovMurphy will do to escape accountability!

It's absurd that Persichilli is trying to blame others for her incompetence around nursing homes. The Woodward stuff is an issue because of honesty, but it's not like the science around the virus was a state secret. The president was saying stuff derived from PUBLISHED case...
