@but_cyclists I don't like that version of filtering, not because I fear for my car
(I check mirrors and blind spots).
What worries me is the filtering videos when cyclists are going at a reasonable pace, weaving around HGVs/big vans/buses.
Putting yourself in multiple blind spots is reckless

Once again for those at the back:
There is zero danger of a cyclist knocking over a car if they pass with a small gap. This shouldn't even need to be said.

@MikeyCycling I still find it fascinating how narrow a space is required for you to cycle through in traffic but if a car overtakes a cyclist with less than a 1.5m gap all hell breaks loose…bizarre!

Nice LR driver this morning. Caught on his phone at one set of lights. Caught the same driver at another set, jumping the red light. His excuse he saw me go through the light (I was far ahead of him and it just turned amber) so it’s my fault. What personal responsibility? 🤣

@SimonRook1 @EricEatsPickles ...its fair to say when/if the technology is introduced, how it is applied will be heavily tried and tested so that it is as safe as it can be.
Out of curiosity is yours a newer car, it may be that mine (2014) uses an older version of that technology (or visa versa)

@SimonRook1 @EricEatsPickles Fair enough, the one on my car just doesn't allow it to go past the set speed, when engaged over a speed, it doesn't engage the brakes.
However, we are talking about something that isn't even in line to be introduced, so guessing (imo) is very much allowed....

Been saying cars should have geo locked limiters for what feels like ages.
It generally isn't something that'd effect the good road users amongst us, just help keep the bad a little more in check.

It’s a shame that children who want to cycle to school have to dress like navvies just because local authorities don’t think they’re worth protecting with proper bike lanes that keep careless drivers away from them.
