I love Rock Creek and the new paved path on Piney Branch BUT can people who know more than me explain why there aren’t crosswalks at 17th and Piney Branch? I have to dash across every morning with my dog but watching two kids try to cross this morning really drives home the need.

There are lovely trails on either side of Piney Branch that you can only *safely* get to with crosswalks @ 16th/AR and then kind of but not really Piney Branch/Beach which seems like no one really thought about trail access? I can’t be the only one thinking this right?

Thanks @DCist for sharing info about my E-BIKE bill! As we continue to invest in our protected bike lane network, we must improve inclusion and access to this expanded infrastructure while supporting the environment and our small business community! dcist.com/story/23/01/13…

Buying an e-bike changed my life. I ride it almost daily around DC, avoiding traffic and lowering my environmental footprint. The E-BIKE Act will make e-bikes more affordable for residents, allowing them to enjoy the same environmental and health benefits I have.

Today, I introduced the E-BIKE Act to reduce cost-barriers that prevent residents from purchasing an electric bike. This is an idea I heard from residents on our Ward 2 bike ride. Reductions in traffic congestion & pollution mean we all benefit from getting residents onto bikes.

“The fastest way communities can cut their emissions is not necessarily building out an electric-vehicle charging network that'll be live in five, 10 years. It's giving people an e-bike and giving them a safe place to ride it.” @NoaBanayan 🚴🏽‍♀️🚴🏼‍♂️ @adambearne npr.org/2023/01/02/114…
