This is why I'm confused at getting a striker and winger, add a midfielder and fullback that's already like 200.

🚨 @ed_aarons: It is understood there is unlikely to be the same outlay on players as the £250m Arsenal spent last summer, but funds are in place to make a marquee signing to rival the purchase of Declan Rice for a then-British record £105m in 2023. 📍

In 15 years at Atleti, Simeone has won 2 La Liga, 1 Copa Del Rey and 1 Europa League (excluding Super Cups). It depends on your standards. If that's all Arsenal do by 2035, then the next decade or so will be torture. Atleti aren't an Arsenal sized club.
JS@js_ownlane

@ddoublewinger Not necessarily. Diego Simeone built a dynasty with not particularly attacking football. The attacking talent has to be improved next season though

Arsenal’s 2024-25 season was ravaged by injuries & their primary objective afterwards was to reinforce the squad with a formidable degree of depth. That meant persuading Mikel Arteta to relinquish his ambitions of signing Alexander Isak & perhaps even Benjamin Sesko. There was an acceptance that Arsenal did need a new centre-forward, but deals at the financial level needed for those players would have restricted their capacity to also strengthen in other areas. They wanted a complete squad more than one built around marquee names. In the end, they made a total of eight first-team signings in that window, with an emphasis on bringing in players at prime age, ready to contribute immediately. 😤🏆 [@gunnerblog]

They’re both T5 best the league has seen And I easily could go further too 😂 CB is the hardest it’s ever been to play in this era. Gotta be as good on the ball as midfielders 15 years ago, play on the half-way line and constant 1v1 duels Real facts ☝️

Josh Kroenke fully backed us but even he is absolutely shooketh at our motion. The owners have got to see what this club means to the everyday working person. Clear message to the fans is, we dont stop here. We want a dynasty. Players are begging their agents… ARSENAL!!!

When Kai Havertz suffered a knee injury on the Premier League’s opening weekend, Arsenal knew they needed to act. Andrea Berta initially proposed signing another striker, with Inter’s Francesco Pio Esposito one of the names floated. Instead, they pivoted to sign a different kind of match-winner, snatching Eberechi Eze away from rivals Tottenham. Arsenal worked tirelessly to complete the necessary paperwork that enabled them to parade Eze ahead of the next fixture against Leeds. While their contracts specialist James King was dealing with the small print, Eze circled the Emirates Stadium in a car waiting for the green light. In the end, of course, it all worked out. ✅🙏 [@gunnerblog]
