Ethereum is preparing for the Glamsterdam upgrade. It should make the network faster and cheaper to use. Today, validators process transactions mostly one after another. Glamsterdam introduces more parallel processing. The chain can handle several safe transactions at the same time, instead of doing everything in sequence. It also moves more of the block-building process on-chain, reducing dependence on external services. Gas limits increase significantly, creating more room for activity without as much congestion. What changes for you as an operator? Your validator will still do the same core job, attesting and proposing, but timing and resource requirements may shift somewhat. Small delays or config issues that were easy to ignore before may have a bigger impact on rewards during the transition. Solo stakers especially benefit from closer monitoring during upgrade windows. That is where @NodeSentnl helps, with simple alerts and context, so you do not have to constantly check logs or explorers.

@NodeSentnl is a free and open-source tool helping solo stakers and institutional operators monitor validators through real-time incident detection and performance intelligence. Excited to align NodeSentinel with Glamsterdam and evolve the tool to help operators be ready for the upgrade.

🚨 New feature announcement: Incidents Until now, NodeSentinel notified when validators went offline, and again when they recovered. Useful, but we could do better. Alerts did not track: • Incident duration • Validators affected • Estimated missed rewards Now they do. We detect validator inactivity when 3 attestations are missed in a row (an attestation is not included, or arrives more than 5 slots late). When inactivity is detected, we open an **incident** that remains active until all affected validators recover. When an incident starts: • A new incident is opened • A notification is sent immediately to the operator While the incident is active we track: • Incident duration • Validators impacted • Missed rewards When all affected validators recover, a recovery notification is sent. Now operators can see not only that something happened, but also for how long, which validators were affected, and what it cost.
