One year ago today, my daughter, Evelyn (3 yo at the time), was hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage. It feels like that event sent the entire world off kilter (and with the insanity of 2020, it's hard to not think that it really did).

The many people happy about Alan Dye leaving Apple are missing the bigger point: he was Apple’s head of design and he left to run design at maybe Apple’s primary competitor. *That* is the enormous development. Apple is losing top people like it hasn’t in 30 years.

my favorite related insight from 10+ years ago was when Facebook had their own custom loader. when they used the custom loader, people blamed Facebook for the slowness. when they used the system spinner, people assumed their phone/ios was the issue.

lol, just opened a project from a time where i was mad SwiftUI existed, still used Interface Builder, and wanted bindings in UIKit... will probably take a whole 15 min to rewrite this in SwiftUI 🤦‍♂️
