PUBLIC UPDATE: Michigan Supreme Court Declines Review
The Michigan Supreme Court has declined to hear my case. This decision was made under the Court’s discretionary authority, meaning the Court chose not to take the case, not that the issues raised were resolved or disproven.
At the center of this case are serious procedural and constitutional concerns:
• My case was dismissed after a court hearing I was never notified about
• The hearing was held without me and decided the same day
• I was never given an opportunity to be heard
• State attorneys acted in the case before lawful service was completed
• The court record was later altered to reflect an earlier appearance date
• I encountered resistance and irregularities when attempting to obtain the transcript of the hearing that dismissed my case
These issues go directly to due process, record integrity, and access to the courts.
The Michigan Supreme Court’s decision not to take the case does not address or resolve these facts. It simply means the Court chose not to review them.
Because of that, the constitutional issues remain.
This case began with a First Amendment concern involving denial of a personalized license plate and subsequent FOIA noncompliance. The records requested would have shown whether viewpoint discrimination occurred. Those records were never lawfully produced, and the underlying decision was quietly reversed without acknowledgment.
When I brought these issues forward, the case was dismissed under circumstances that raise serious constitutional questions.
At this point, state-level remedies have been exhausted.
The next step is federal.
I will be pursuing review at the federal level to address the unresolved constitutional violations, including deprivation of notice, denial of the opportunity to be heard, and obstruction of access to the courts.
At this point, state-level review has ended without addressing the record.
The constitutional issues remain intact and unrebutted.
Next step: federal review.
