Made a quick road trip to the Kawarthas. Sunset Sat. was just what the Dr. ordered. Heading back to Ottawa today with clouds -maybe some sunny breaks by later pm. Temps will struggle to hit 20°. A stray ☔️ or even a ⚡️by pm into eve. Wind NW gusts 30+. Turning warmer this week.

@JaneFallon I have a sort of rule with stuff like this. If I’m still thinking about it 2 hours later, I buy it. My last one was this hand blown glass octopus, who now sits in the bathroom judgementally watching my ablutions.

Last time we visited Cambridge I fell in love with this frog in an art shop. I went back the next day to buy him but it was closed 😩. So yesterday I finally returned. Turns out he’s a toad. Now he’s going to sit on my desk & stare at me judgementally for the rest of his days.

Leaping, sliding, spinning, biting that magical hissing water stream like it owed me infinite bully sticks. I AM THE HOSE CHAMPION. THE WETTEST WARRIOR ALIVE. Best game in the history of backyard glory. My favorite thing to do, aside from eating of course. 10000/10. Drenched, victorious, and begging for another round. 🐾⚡💦 But my little brother Kenji the Mooseweiler? Oh this precious, confused, oversized giant... This 90-pound velvet hippo drama king, this couch-conquering indoor lion, this royal fluff dictator of the den, this majestic moose who turns into a puzzled potato the second he steps outside, this giant suspicious sausage roll, this brave sofa sentinel, this oversized drama llama, this throne-room tyrant turned backyard wimp, this beefy bewildered bear, this royal rumble reject, this floofy nonsense burrito... Saw the hose spraying for the first time and just completely blue-screened. Full head-tilt overload. Big "why is the sky attacking us" Mooseweiler eyebrows. Standing there like: 'Wait... the air is leaking? Big Sis is fighting water ghosts? Is this sorcery or a trap?' Total newbie confusion mode. Deeply suspicious of this mystery hissing wizard. Wouldn’t chase the stream at all. Not even once! Just careful backwards steps and strategic side-eye like the water might sue him for emotional damage. BUT — he’s still obsessed with tackling Big Sis. So this brilliant oversized puzzled plushie kept launching full 'I MUST BODYSLAM CHESNYY' missions... and kept getting gloriously sprinkled like a confused beefy sprinkler magnet anyway 😂 Kenji after splash #4: 'BETRAYAL BY BACKYARD PHYSICS. MY ROYAL FLUFF IS COMPROMISED. I WAS PROMISED ADVENTURE NOT THIS DAMP DISASTER. WHO APPROVED THIS LIQUID TREASON?!' Meanwhile I’m living my best soggy life. Well my beautiful Grandcub Isabella has written me a story to go with her picture and she’s made me cry! This is a 7 year old little girl that has been brought up with compassion and kindness and I think this story shows that. I couldn’t be prouder of my little best friend 🦡🐾🐾❤️ Wild life Story very caring Once upon a time on a warm summer evening there was a tiny small fairy in a house. She was sleeping and snoring very loudly and guess what, she only comes out at night time when all the nocturnal animals come out like badgers, and foxes hedgehogs and mouses and barn owls and rats and especially Crystal the magic powerful brave bold fairy. She was the most bravest fairy ever. She was a doctor fairy aswell she helped the nocturnal animals that were very very sick. Crystals a nocturnal fairy you know. All the nocturnal animals loved her and were always happy to see her. They always had a beaming smile on there faces. Suddenly perl one of the badgers got hurt very very badley and the other animals had to take perl to Crystal remember because she's a doctor fairy. Crystal gave perl some medicison out of the cupboard and she ran to perl and gave it to her. "Mmm that was yummy" said perl! I feel so much better now.

Meet Daria our first Badger Cub of the year named after the tragic loss of Daria who’s wish was to be a badger 😍 It’s a big fluffy chubby cub so I expect Autumn has only had one, but we’ll have to wait and see. We now just need to see Boo’s and Pumpkin’s cubs. This is what conservation is all about and I’m feeling very proud that we have helped 21 years of different generations flourish after the houses were built on their land.
