Taking care of pregnant daughter in law, regular visits to docs , giving her supplements and letting her live peacefully should be mandatory, though never heard it’s a tradition. It had always been, “humne to pregnancy me kya kya kiya tha , saas ne sataya tha”. Demanding specific gender’s grandkid should be considered mental cruelty

Doesn't matter! My sister who got married in a family with 2 daughters, she has been harrassed by all 3 women in the house incl husband and FIL. SOLo it's the sick mindset & their upbringing. Every girl who is earning & being married to a middle class family is in same situation.

Recently visited two stores of @cromaretail , and it honestly feels like they don’t even bother attending to customers anymore. Today also, I went to one of their stores to check out chimneys. There was a staff member standing there, so I asked her about the chimneys, but she didn’t respond at all. Then I asked a senior staff member if someone could assist me. He said he would send someone, but no one came. I waited for 10–15 minutes, and still nobody showed up. Finally, I walked out and told the senior staff, “If you’re not interested in showing the products, at least let me know. I’ll buy from somewhere else.”

I dont understand why some mothers in law are antagonist towards their daughters in law, who started this culture/tradition of hatred? I have tried a lot to understand this mentality, but couldn't, if i put myself in the mil's place i feel I'll have as much love for my dil as for my son, for the sole reason that this girl makes my son happy, rest everything is secondary, I'd put effort to have a good healthy & loving relationship with her, because she is family now, I think it's lack of maturity that causes this insecurity & hatred, & also because Boomer parents think they own their sons, so they feel threatened by the introduction of another claimant. I'm saying this is a generational thing, because as much as i have heard about the experience of our grandparents' generation, yes the in laws were strict, & there was an air of reverence, but in most cases they weren't blatantly petty & hostile.
