I graduated from MIT in 2023. It was the year (more like era) when it was especially hard to get a role in big tech. A lot of my friends and classmates basically took two alternative routes > get a masters/higher education and wait it out > build or join a startup it's been a few years now, and those life choices are starting to realize. For me personally, I reneged a quant trading job and moved to SF instead (for my own reasons). But it's been really beautiful to see the companies/achievements everyone has built and accomplished in the past few years in sf, nyc, etc. thinking of @annasun_19 and @NowadaysAI when we used to serve on class council together and lived down the floor in our sorority house thinking of @ivory_tang, who cross-registered with me at Harvard classes and is now building a new company thinking of many more :)

@shreya_sud @MeganAnanian @nikillinit That's us :) We use AI to automate gathering quotes from venues and vendors, managing the back-and-forth emails and calls to handle negotiations on your behalf. We've actually had weddings planned on our platform!

After going through planning a wedding, here are some of my business ideas - a site to buy Indian welcome bags and have them delivered to the respective hotels. Finding Indian snacks, nice bags, assembling them, etc is a huge pain and we had to make an extra trip just to get them to the hotels - AI agents for getting quotes from vendors + seeing how contracts interact with each other. Highlighting things that might be issues by looking at the contracts next to each other (eg based on the number of people in the hotel blocks, this shuttle won’t be large enough) - a better Zola. Zola is good for making a really lightweight wedding site, but it lacks any sort of customization + focuses on the registry since that’s where they make their money (I think). GenAI tools might make it much easier to design your own invitation cards, quickly make changes to your site, design table place cards, etc in one place -house call measurements for overseas fitting. A lot of people go to India to get their stuff made, but we just did the measurements over FaceTime ourselves and prayed. We would have probably paid for someone to come and do official measurements. -IRS whistleblowing on all the wedding vendors. JK…
