I would like to sincerely thank Mr. @mosesmawa, CEO of SilverTrust Media Group and @Afrogtv, for presenting me with the AfroGlobal Television Global Impact Award and for making the journey from Canada to Uganda to do so. I am deeply grateful for this recognition and for acknowledging our efforts to improve education in Uganda and across the region. Your support and encouragement mean a great deal and inspire us to keep pushing forward.

What is wrong with @ReachDrMuganga having worked in Rwanda? Under EAC common market protocol, there is free movement of labour and services across the EAC. Even Pres. @PaulKagame worked in Uganda and he is President of Rwanda. I think we should not continue enjoying the peaceful relations between Uganda and Rwanda. Within Uganda, we have more than 10 million Ugandans who trace their origins in the kingdom of Rwanda. So let us focus on complying with the law. If he can renounce his other citizenships, Dr. Muganga should be approved by Parliament as Minister of State for Internal Affairs. Pres. @KagutaMuseveni did research before he appointed him. Why do you think Pres. Museveni was meeting him in Nakasero?

Prof, To renounce your Rwandan Citizenship, you must submit a formal written application to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration of Rwanda, which requires cabinet approval. The process concludes with the issuance of a certificate of renunciation and the publication of your details in the gazette. Mr Muganga did not follow any of the above processes. What he did was like marrying someone’s daughter before your lawyer without visiting the parents. Those who can reach out to him, inform him that the process he followed of going to URSB to renounce his Rwandan citizenship was fraudulent.

All this is irrelevant. What Parliament should have done is to follow the law. It does not matter whether one has two, three or even 100 citizenships. At the time of vetting by the parliamentary appointments committee all those that were dual citizens should have been rejected. Parliament cannot take decisions in anticipation of Canada, USA or Rwanda accepting the application for renunciation of the citizen. What if the application is rejected or the applicant later withdraws the application? Similarly one cannot make a decision in anticipation of an amendment of the law..

PUBLIC NOTICE!.... My office has been informed that there is a group of people going around asking money from people to organize a homecoming party for me in Jinja City. This serves to inform the general public, RDCs, and the business community in Jinja City and Busoga in general that I have not approved any celebration party arrangements in Jinja City. Those soliciting money from RDCs, the business community, and my friends in the disguise of organising a party for me are conmen who should be reported to the nearest police station. Lastly, I urge whoever is involved in this kind of arrangement should immediately put a stop to it. Wait for my formal communication in case of any party arrangement, which is most likely to be a Thanksgiving in Budiope West.

To @m8arteta and @Arsenal, Uganda is calling. The passion shown by Ugandan Arsenal fans between 19 May and 24 May proved one thing clearly: Uganda is one of Arsenal’s biggest homes outside England. Across the country, fans came together with unmatched energy, loyalty, and love for the club. From packed viewing centres to celebrations in the streets, the support was impossible to ignore. We would love to see Arsenal include Uganda on their next pre-season tour and play one match here. It would mean everything to millions of Ugandan fans who proudly stand with the club every single week, through every victory, every challenge, and every season. Uganda is also known as the Pearl of Africa for a reason. From its wildlife, especially the mountain gorillas, to its beautiful landscapes, amazing weather, and warm people, this country has so much to offer. Come experience Uganda. Come meet your fans. Come create unforgettable memories with us.
