Operation Never Say Die involves 11 defendants who engaged in fraud totaling more than $50 million. Those arrested today will appear in federal court this afternoon. But they were wrong to forecast based on tariff policy X. That was PURE TDS. Trump made it clear that the Liberation Day tariffs were the starting point for negotiations. The forecasts should have taken that into account.

It's really not complicated: 1. A lot of economists made predictions based on tariff policy X 2. Trump has changed it many times, so X never happened, but Y tariffs have been enacted 3. So predictions of X are irrelevant, BUT Y policy still made the US economy weaker.
