New research suggests psilocybin may influence biological aging in ways scientists are only beginning to understand. A collaborative study conducted by researchers at Emory University and Baylor College of Medicine examined the effects of psilocin, the active metabolite produced when psilocybin is metabolized in the body on cellular aging. In laboratory experiments, human skin cells exposed to the compound demonstrated a 51% increase in lifespan, while fetal lung cells showed a 57% extension compared to untreated controls. The findings indicate that psilocin may slow cellular senescence, the process in which cells lose the ability to divide and gradually deteriorate. This points to potential effects beyond the nervous system, suggesting psychedelics could interact with molecular pathways involved in stress resistance and cellular longevity. The researchers also tested the compound in aged mice. Animals given monthly doses of psilocybin had an 80% survival rate during the study period, compared with 50% among untreated mice. In addition to improved survival, treated animals displayed fewer visible markers of aging, including reduced fur whitening and physical decline. Altough the study remains limited to laboratory and animal models, the results introduce a new area of investigation in longevity science. Compounds traditionally studied for their psychological effects may also have measurable impacts on biological aging. Source: Emory University & Baylor College of Medicine (2025). The Fulton Surface-to-Air Recovery System used a skyhook to rescue people without having to land the plane in the 1950s. Before testing on humans, American inventor Robert Edison Fulton initially tested the skyhook on dummies before moving on to pigs. When the pig was lifted off the ground, it began to spin while flying through the air at 125 miles (200 km/h) per hour. Thankfully, the pig arrived on the plane unharmed, albeit slightly disoriented. When the pig recovered, it began to attack the crew onboard.

Dolphins LB Bradley Chubb has reached thresholds for both playing time and sacks to trigger $5.15 million in incentives. However, that is all contingent on Miami’s defense finishing in the top 20 in points per game. Heading into Sunday’s game at New England, they are 21st at 24.1 points per game; Atlanta is 20that 24.0 points per game.
