@LJTafeMD Where was this? Was everyone else on the list also a pathologist? Pathologist also don’t seem to deserve a more specific designation than “lab” 🤷🏻‍♀️

This feels like a micro aggression. Everyone else on the list was titled correctly. I am a Professor and a Director of a section but really just “pathology”!?

Very sad news. I just learned that Dr. Chris Fletcher, distinguished Professor of #Pathology, and expert in many trades in Surgical Pathology, especially in Soft Tissue Pathology, has died. Condolences to his family and friends. His memory will remain with us . #Pathologists

@__oldwine Your research and clinical skills are probably well reflected in your CV. Getting to know the resident applicant as a whole person is the main point of the interview. Do you fit in with the team. I like when applicants have other interests, they coupé better with stress

@IHC_guy Unfortunately professional life is also full of up and downs. Maybe some have only ups, but I had my fair share of downs.Has nothing to do with resilience, we deserve to hurt and heal. What kept me moving? My ultimate love for pathology, a few amazing mentors, my SO and my horses

Dealt another damaging professional blow today … I think it’ll be a while before I dust myself off & try again. I don’t know how many more “happy to help”’s I have left in me as I get kicked in the junk over & over & over & over & over & over. I wish I was more resilient.

And thus brings to a close a(nother) year of crushing disappointment. It takes so much and gives so little in return. I naively believed that trying my hardest and caring the most would lead to purpose. My pilot light is out. I have nothing left to give. And yet, I will.

@arghavan_salles I had the experience that everyone “knows one were it finally worked” but the people that ultimately are unsuccessful really speak up. But it happens, and even than, life can be meaningful, just different what we anticipated and hoped for

@arghavan_salles Sending you hugs and don’t give up, but also want to give you hope that even if the road ends differently than we were all hoping, there is light ( which I could just not imagine when I underwent treatment)

@dr_cellini That would be 5:30 pm plus procedure 5:35pm. Though my specialty is usually regarded as just sipping coffee and occasionally look at a slide, I never leave at 5:30 pm when on clinical service. I am also not sure 🤔 if I would exspect this being in medicine.

Nothing will make you question your career choice more than watching your radiologist colleagues leave at 4pm while you wait another 1.5hrs to do a 5min inpatient procedure…
