One insight that stood out from this episode 👇 Most DeFi lending protocols force everyone into the same risk pool. @Loopscale is taking a completely different approach with orderbook-based lending, where lenders choose exactly what assets they want exposure to and borrowers can unlock liquidity from a much wider range of collateral. The bigger vision isn't just better crypto lending. It's bringing real-world credit markets onchain: • Fixed-rate loans • Invoice financing • Small business credit • RWA-backed borrowing As Mary put it, Solana DeFi is still only ~1% of what it could become. If that future happens, lending infrastructure like Loopscale could be one of the foundations that powers it. The most important thing @marygooneratne said in this interview wasn't about Loopscale. It was this: "Credit has historically been one of the biggest drivers of human and economic progress." Today, most DeFi credit is still used for leverage. Bitcoin is a $1.9 trillion asset, yet less than 0.5% of it participates in DeFi. 99% sits economically idle — not because people (or institutions) don’t want to use it, but because public blockchains expose everything: balances, counterparties, payment flows, investment strategies, and commercial relationships. Serious capital simply doesn’t operate that way on a fully transparent ledger. STRK20s fix that. They bring "Privacy that works for crypto" — real, usable privacy that lets Bitcoin finally move beyond simple HODLing and become productive in DeFi without forcing users to broadcast their entire financial life.
