The Canadian Armed Forces has expanded its restrictions on public prayer, barring chaplains and anyone providing spiritual services at official military ceremonies from using faith-specific language—including references to God—in a move critics say amounts to an attack on religious freedom. junonews.com/p/military-exp…

Back home today, but will start planning for my trip to PEI to see my daughter. She's practicing (dentist) on the island. We all love Prince Edward Island. I'll find some beaches that's for sure, and some golf courses and some wonderful seafood.

Productive day at the cottage. Did some good work (sent a portfolio review to a reader), played guitar, did some good walks 🐾 🐕 and a bike ride. Then swim n beach. 🏖️

Dear @MarkJCarney Hit back, hard. Potash, energy, especially oil as their strategic reserves are so low. Export tax. Cripple their oil sector No potash for fertilizer Yes, they'll punch bank. Hit them again. Make life unaffordable to Americans just before the midterms.

Question for Western Canadians. How often do you encounter unilingual French speakers in the West? Not just French speakers. I mean unilingual. They can't speak or understand any English. Once or twice in a blue moon?

#REPORT: New draft regulations by Carney Liberal heritage minister Marc Miller would force all businesses with over 100 employees to offer all their services in French in designated English Canadian cities, including Edmonton, Winnipeg, Sudbury, Ottawa, and Yarmouth.

@BigGuyBry @GoofyNewfie2012 Most of the heavy lift (capital intensity) was front loaded for oilsands production. 80% of reserves will be prod via SAGD. Wells drilled in < 10 days and paid back in under a year. This business is fine at 65 WTI. 70 cent CAD makes it even better, but yes, 📈 is better.

@OFS_PrivateCo @GoofyNewfie2012 I'll be honest there's a better outlook for coastal oil than oil sands at that price. But that's a long term gamble the companies are taking. If the price long term stays low it delays profits for decades. Just like TMX won't be profitable for taxpayers for about 30 years

@BigGuyBry @GoofyNewfie2012 Hibernia started producing with WTI below 20 and was around 12 by 1998. We’ll make it work, Bob. Wells that once took 12 months to drill are now done in 3-4. What business are you in so we can opine on that?

@OFS_PrivateCo @GoofyNewfie2012 Honestly Hormuz might be the only thing that keeps the project alive. But if they keep artificially lowering prices it doesn't make financial sense. The multinational oil companies know this, which is why they demand tax payers cover as much of the cost as possible, just like TMX

@BigGuyBry @GoofyNewfie2012 As we work on bid submission docs, how much you want to bet on “never be built”? Over a billion barrels out there. Hormuz made all investment outside the ME more feasible.

@GoofyNewfie2012 As I said when it was announced, this project will never be built. Just like the newly announced pipelines. It's not financially feasible. We're approaching peak oil, and demand will only go down from here. It'll take decades before these projects become profitable, if at all
